Funny MMAth: DC > Mike Tyson

Lucas Browne failed his drug test after his bout with Ruslan Chagaev tho: http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/15035971/lucas-browne-failed-drug-test-fight-vs-ruslan-chagaev

Food for thought, he claimed innocence, not sure what the word is on whether he's still champ, etc.

Interesting Browne found more success in boxing.

But yeah, Cormier is great. His KO of Bigfoot, flipping Dan Henderson in the air, the Mir bout, the Johnson bout. The guy is absolutely the champ if Jones is not in the picture.

He's still listed as the champ.

Although that is a pure paper belt and Chagaev is overweight and past it. WBA is crap with creating so many belts inside a division as if there aren't enough "champions" in boxing.

Still though, I guess you could sort of claim that he's the first MMA fighter to become the boxing world champ.

More proof the martial arts are far superior to boxing. An MMA dropout is the boxing world champion.

The paperest of paper belts though. He's not a true top 10 in the division. Still, he went far.

It would be fun to see him rematch DC at this point, maybe DC can unify the belts lol.

This Lucas Browne win definitely got better with age too. He beat this huge (6 ft 5 in / 1.96 m, 250 lb / 110 kg) obviously talented guy into another sport in one round.

He [Lucas started cage fighting in 2009, scoring six knockouts in his opening six fights before he ran headlong into the UFC current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

It was quite a humbling experience being schooled by a wrestler like that,” Browne said.

“I’d done cage fighting for two years. I trained for three months and had my first MMA fight. Two weeks after that I had a kickboxing fight.

“The weekend after that I had a boxing fight. After the Cormier cage fight, I decided boxing was the way to go.

has anyone seen the DC vs Lucas Browne match? I'm starting to think that fight is a hoax of some sort. There are no traces of it online, none -- not even a weight-in/face off picture. Doesn't that seem sketchy to anyone?

So you think but:

Mike Tyson > Jesse Ferguson > Ray Mercer > Tim Sylvia > Andrei Arlovski > Antonio Silva > Fedor > Cro Cop > Wanderlei Silva > Michael Bisping > Anderson Silva > Vitor Belfort > Dan Henderson > Rich Franklin > Matt Hamill > Jon Jones > Daniel Cormier

HAHA Who's #1 now? Mike Tyson, that's who.

Yeh, I was there.

It was a pretty stacked card for an Aussie card at the time.
I'd only heard of DC then, had never seen him. Bobby Southworth was on that card, Marvin Eastman and a few guys that went on TUF later. DC made short work of it If my memory serves.

He knocked out Chagaev and you dont think hes top 10? I think that puts him in the 7-10 range at HW.
