Fun fact: Conor is Khabib's only opponent who deserved a rematch

Khabib beat him in the standup and grappling. Conor also has virtually no relevant wins at LW other than his 1 fight with Eddie, why in God's name would he have ever been deserving of a rematch? First fight was not remotely close and Conor never got wins at LW to earn his spot.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they have Conor in the UFC's LW rankings at #12. Dude has lost 3 out of his last 4 and hasn't won a fight in almost 3 years which was against an old Cerrone @ WW, not LW. The last time he won a fight at LW was 6 fucking years ago against IMO the worst LW champ in a long time. I loved watching Eddie fight, especially his fights in Dream and Bellator (i saw him live at a Bellator event and went specifically because i wanted to see him fight), but Conor was a bad match up for him, especially since he mainly stopped using his wrestling and is a small/short LW who likes to slug it out.

Judges Ben Cartlidge and Sal D’Amato both scored the round 10-9 to Gaethje while Derek Cleary scored it 10-9 to Nurmagomedov.

Conor's desire and hunger disappeared when he didn't get the rematch. We all saw how motivated and dedicated he was for the Nate rematch so he'd undoubtedly have done the same for Khabib. It had the makings of a classic.

Instead his next 2 opponents (Cowboy & Dustin) were people he had no animosity for and was in fact friendly with. That was the end of Conor's competitive drive.
