I've not ever understood the hype behind him. Eraser Head was one thing, it was ahead of its time, weird yet drew you in. However, going through all his films they're just jumbled messes. The emotions and motives of the character's are confusing and always unclear.

I decided I hated him when I tried to watch Twin Peaks: The Return. WTF! It felt like too many of the story lines were inconsequential, full of dead ends or pointless characters. Then the ending, was atrocious! If I was one of these poor fool who liked the original and waited 30 years for closure I would riot in the street!

Loved the old Twin Peaks seasons, and The Return season last year was simply incredible.

Arguably the best work Lynch has ever done.

fu*k you too man. At least you admit Eraserhead was good but c'mon. Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and most importanty INLAND EMPIRE. All enjoyable films.

I loved Mulholland drive, watched it 3 times in 2 days and it kept haunting me for a while. I hated Blue velvet though and I've never watched Twin peaks

Love his films, the new Twin Peaks was awful IMO, felt like a Lynch parody or simply a poor imitation, stopped watching after about 6-8 episodes.

He's a love/hate kind of director.

How about The Straight Story? Did you enjoy that?

I have no idea who he is but ill back you TS!

YEH FUCK HIM!!!!!!

Blue velvet is one of the greatest films. Come on Frank Booth is fucking awesome.

You might still like The Straight Story and The Elephant Man. They are very normal by Lynch standards.

Couldn't really get into Twin Peaks (not for lack of trying because it was all the rage back in the day and my boyfriend at the time was an outright devotee of David Lynch the auteur) mainly because it's so incredibly camp it's off-putting, and also there are not really any stand-out acting performances (if you exclude the dreamy Agent Cooper and the gimmicky coffee and pie, i suppose...) and all in all the characters seemed like little more than David Lynch chess pieces being moved around a board. Very cold, and none of it believable or interesting.

I like his un-quirky films best: The Elephant Man, and The Straight Story.

David Lynch spent his entire career satirically making surrealist bullshit that ~~~artsy hipsters~~~ took too seriously.

I can normally see the appeal of most shows hyped on here, but I really couldn't get into Twin Peaks at all.

Old Twin Peaks seasons were great. New one was just godawful, only regret giving it a good 5-6 episodes of devolving into utter unwatchability.

Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire are great.

I heard so much about Twin Peaks but just could not get into it. I guess you either love it or hate it. I thought it was bad.

Wild at Heart was his best piece of work. Forget all the rest.

I was a huge DL fan and loved TP. But TP season 3 is absolute garbage. He is dead to me (like David Cronenberg).

Mulholland Dr is a great movie but I could never get into Twin Peaks, will probably try to watch Blue Velvet and see if I like it.

Never understood Blue Velvet. I tried to watch it and was like 'WTF is this'?
