All this is is proof some Russians did - not that it was ordered by Putin and not that Trump Campaign worked with them knowingly.

This is more about grabbing the headline than the nuts and bolts of what this really is in this case.

If Mueller gets convictions of Russian Nationals interfering in the election for Trump it makes it harder for him to try and pivot to "they were helping for Hillary" and a few other talking points he does.

It gives the Russia investigation more teeth.
