Frog legs mmmm

Lmao

Sorry to bump this year old thread but the comment above is too golden.

I noticed the grocery store down the road sells frozen frog legs. What's the easiest way to prepare them without sacrificing tasteView attachment 660153 ?

Can any rednecks chime in?
Fry them for your first attempt if you are good at frying and want to easily move into frog legs.

Can grill them on the bbq, sautés them all kinds of ways to enjoy.

Fried however , is my favorite.

I’ve only ever cooked wild caught. Please report back if the store bought ones taste “fishy” or not.

If I can get some around here I’ll try them.

I tried them once and they had an uncomfortable taste of sewer.

Sorry i updated the post. Can i cover them in oil and broil them in the oven?

My cousin and I used to catch and eat our own frogs in a creek near our grandmothers house when we were young. I remember them being good but I have never tried them as an adult.

IMO frog tastes nothing like chicken. I don't get why people even say that. Frog tastes exactly like a mix of turtle and fish. Use to gig for frogs in my teens. Nothing is better fried up. We'd fry the hind legs, and slow cook the fronts, chest and ribs. All parts on a frog are pretty delicious. Similar in texture between sea scallops and clam strips. Rubbery kinda, but still pulls apart. Great wild meat
I still gig every summer. Sometimes I'll just take a rod and reel and catch them like fish, just cast a rubber worm near a big Bull Frog and he'll gobble that thing up. Some of the best wild meat you can have.

In your experience how does it compare to squirrel meat

How do you cook the gator deep fry or grilled? Theres a store up the road that sells it Im gonna get some next time I go by there.
You can fry it soaking it in better milk then toss it in cornmeal or flour

Or grilled with some blackening seasoning on it. Shit's really good

I love cajun food. Frog legs are good eating for sure. I used to work for my friend who owned a series of cajun food trucks. We had a lot of fun and ate well. Drank too much lol and went out of buisness

Yes, do them the same way you would do Chicken legs like that.

Some oil and what ever you prefer to season with.

Some zatarans and some lemon works well.

Or just super simple. Cracked pepper, sea salt and lemon

Lmao what did you drink to go out of business? How exactly do you go out of business due to that? Was it something you did/said? Poor food preparation due to alcolulz?

Damn we cajun up in this

Only worry is packaging says imported form Indonesia... that's half way around the world. Makes me wonder how many times it was refrozen during trip

We were the atxboudain hut

Pretty sure you can read the Yelp reviews still. Yeah we basically did cocaine all the time and wasted our money. Wound up getting the bank account seized by the comptroller for being behind on taxes.

We had 2 food trucks and were in business for like 4 years. Shit happens

That actually sounds romantic. Can i join if you ever make a comeback?

Asked the waiter in a French restaurant if he had frog's legs.

He said 'Yes'.

So I told him to hop it and and get me a sandwich.

I’ve only had them once and who k owe maybe they were farm raised, but they struck me as pretty flavorless.
