Any of you still friends with people you were friends with in high school? I dont really talk to any of my best friends from high school, I have some of them on facebook but we dont talk. I do however talk to a girl from my high school that I wasnt friends with back then. We are pretty good friends now but in high school we ran in different friends groups and didnt talk at all. Now she is basically the only person I know from high school I still talk with..and we never talked in HS... Do you keep in touch with your HS friends?

Yeah, I met my best friend in HS and we still keep in touch and hang out today, though not as much due to family and work obligations. The other guys i hung out with in HS i don't talk to at all. I do have some friends I met as a teenager who didn't go to my HS, but i talk to and hang out with more now than I did back then.

yeah I think you can be friends with people as a teen then life takes over.... people change, go there own way.. move .. things like that. I grew up in a small town so most people moved out, still strange to me that I dont talk to people I spent my whole childhood with. Thats cool you and your friend still talk though. I dont even know what my best friend in HS does for a living ... I live about 45 miles from where I did in high school, a few people from my town live here ( not sure why) the first girl I ever got a BJ from lives 3 miles from me and we never talk... Although she is married so I kind of understand it. just odd you can spend so much time with people and than they are out of your life.

I still see some of the guys from my group of friends, kind of a small town so we all run into each other. Of my 2-3 best friends, I’m still best buds with my friend lucas, don’t really see one guy anymore because he got weird, and my other best friend was killed in a car wreck a couple years ago.

My best bud is from high school and we meet up couple of times per month. I don't hang out with classmates anymore but the small group of us from back then whom were tight are still friends. We meet up for Chinese New Year at my house for food/drinks and poker night almost yearly. Grab a drink somewhere every few months or so.

It's probably country related as well. I presume in western countries, as we get into adulthood, people have to move to different states for their career. The distances probably plays a part in whether or not childhood friends meet up.

In Singapore, it's 45mins tops from each direction.

weird how?

Nope.
We all moved to different places. Kept in touch by texts or social media. Then it slowly stopped. Sad, but i guess that’s part of growing up.

I was forced to be friends with my best mate when I was 3 by our families, went to high school with him and he's still my best friend. But I haven't seen the others for some years.
1 thing I find weird I'm now friends and have been for a long time with people I fought with at school, I'm also mates with with a few that I went to school with but didn't exactly hang around with when I was younger.

Where I grew up everyone hung out but there where groups within groups

I went to a private school in the middle of bumfuck nowhere in a southern state. Now I live in Korea so hard to hang out with my highschool friends. I lost touch with them in college anyway.

No but I have a couple from elementary school. I switched school systems halfway through so I never made any strong attachments.

As a younger brother I saw my brother lose contact with all his friends from high school and get quite lonely.

I was determined to let that not happen today me so I went out of my way to make a big effort with my friends from then.

In the end though I decided they were all jerks and not worth the bother.

They're on my social media, we all live in different places and don't have a lot in common. I have friends I like more these days, except for one, a guy I met outside of school through a weed smoking group. He's probably a best friend now.

People change, it's a bit much to hold onto those relationships.

38 now have a close group of friends from we were 13 years old. 6 of us still in regular touch and meet up often. My best mate coaches at the same football club so see each other regularly.

I think it's been since graduation in 1988 that I last saw anyone from my high school.
Met my best friend later that summer and it's been thirty years of great times.

Literally my only close friends are the ones I went to highschool with.

Nope. Most of the people I knew back then are dead, assumed dead, or in prison.
