Friday's Bellator Show did "Monster Number" and Shattered All Previous Records.

So that means more people than we thought saw those two abysmal main events and are now turned off to MMA more than ever . . .
 
They should rerun it with a laugh track.

If Larry Bird played a legit 1 on 1 basketball vs Magic Johnson the game would be very sloppy but a lot of people would still watch. No one was expecting those 4 fighters to look impressive.

Anyone with a brain knew what they were about to watch and did so largely for a laugh. People here are just pretending like the average joe thought this fight was going to be legit as an excuse to crap on bellator dispite the monster ratings.

UFC also puts their third tier cards on cable. Imagine what UFC 196 would do on cable.

There are far more average joe's than actual MMA enthusiasts who know the difference between a has been and an actual fighter. Sadly many people will be turned off by this spectacle and generalize MMA as a whole because of it. But thats their loss.
 
Kimbo has fans, Dada also I'm sure had some fans due to dogfight. I don't think Shamrock or Gracie really brought in any eye balls.

Good for those two, hope they got paid. Kimbo should really get some nice scratch, both of his fights have brought in some really good ratings.

Let's remember this was FREE on Cable TV... in which UFC puts only their WORST cards (On Paper) on TV for free.... It may have broken records, but that means A LOT of the casuals or first time viewers that watched the even will not be tuning into another MMA event EVER AGAIN, EVER, OF ALL AGAINESS IN THE HISTORY OF TIME

This isn't certain. As crazy as it sounds to some. There are people who actually enjoyed the event. Lets see what the numbers are the next time Kimbo fights if they are a record low then you can make that case.

Kimbo will ALWAYS get GOOD numbers due to his street fights and his internet popularity. Especially with the casual, and SUPER SUPER casuals.... As long as Kimbo's name is on a card it will spark interest AUTOMATICALLY with his HUGE internet following and the casuals who know Kimbo over Ken Shamrock or Royce Gracie...

Spike TV is now premium cable.

What makes you think that? A ton of people already saw Kimbo vs Shamrock and they chose to watch again and even added some of their friends.

They have four network TV slots a year and they are all to promote the PPV the following week. They have 13 ppvs a year. The fox shows get main events that are not going to anchor a major PPV. Fox events are second tier.

The UFC had 7.6 million ppv buys for 60 bucks last year. The success of this card is not comparable to anything the UFC are doing.

That might be comparable if Mighty Mouse was UFCs biggest star.

This might have allot of truth in it but it doesn't make my reply to your original comment wrong.

If the viewer ratings stay on average or increase in events with these same fighters in them. Than that would make your statement wrong. We won't know for sure until Kimbo / Ken / Royce fight again. If the next Kimbo ... does less than average for a bellator event ratings wise. Then you might have a case for your claims.
 
And all of those people went, "and this is why I don't watch MMA."

Exactly. People have been turning out in droves for Kimbo since forever, really doubt that's gonna stop now.
