Rumored French Canadian podcast ''Le SOS podcast'' confirm rumors of a Gane VS Aspinall possible at UFC 315.

Gane could get hurt standing too, aspinall is the fastest and most technical boxer he's fought, gane was having issues with an older JDS who was pressuring him back to the cage and throwing combinations. He even backed up in a straight line against tuivasa and got dropped, I think aspinall is overrated but gane really sucks
It's hw mma, so sure, but Gane is clearly better on the feet imo.

lol people saying Gane would win. I don't even know that he could win a standup battle. He isn't a knockout artists, and Tom has been getting quick KOs. But it doesn't matter- Tom will take him down if he needs to, and Gane will flounder like he always does.

Watch Tom's fight with Volkov, then watch both of Gane's fights with him.

This might be real because Dana has recently been talking about moving on from the Jones/Tom fight because of failed negotiations.

He's asking for the same amount to fight Aspinall as he did to fight Ngannou. The truth is, Aspinall is nowhere near as big a name as Ngannou among causal fans, non-hardcore fans probably aren’t even that familiar with him.

You’d need a 1 million PPV guarantee for the UFC to offer a $15 million-plus payday, and Jon never even reached that mark against DC, so he certainly wouldn’t against Tom.
Its always been about Jon pricing himself out. He knows very well what type of draw him or Frank were. $30 million as a purse would have necessitated something like 1.75x Khabib/Conor cards at the very least in a different thread we did the math in, good luck ever achieving that without the card of the century.

Better kicks and movement maybe, but I'd have a stand up fight with Gane rather than Tom any day of the week. Cyril has peaked, Tom is still improving each fight.

I know i sound crazy but I think we might get Jones Francis. The Saudis want it and they are talking about buying endeavor outright. This might be a way to keep em at bay for a year or 2

I believe the 30 million request was a starting point to get to a number Jones thought the UFC might actually offer him. He made a comment some time back about how if Deontay Wilder got paid 15 million for a fight he deserved the same number.

The thing is to get a super high pay day you need the right dancing partner. Conor and Khabib were the ultimate dancing partners. DC should have been the same for Jones but they couldn't crack much beyond 800k ppvs.

Aspinal is not the right dancing partner to get Jon a super fight payday, so yeah he'll just retire/wait to be stripped.

Well, Gane is well know here because of his TKO days fighting here.
Big fight for a Montreal return was needed.

I'm actually pumped.

Aspinall Vs Gane
O'Malley Vs Sandhagen
Katona Vs Almakhan
Cornolle Vs Cowan
Jourdain Vs TBA
Barriault Vs TBA

(both Charles Jourdain and Marc Andre Barriault said they will be on that card for hometown reason)
Hopefully Gane will be ok and confirm this soon, he got hurt on his last fight back in december. I prefer that as a main event over Belal VS Shavkhat.

BTW talking about TKO...

LE BRÉSILLIEN A DÉCIDÉ DE BLOQUÉ AVEC SA FACE. i think it was Jourdain was co-commenting on that fight lol.

I'm not so sure. Gane kinda moves impressively, but his defense is largely inflated by fighting guys like Tai who will swing fifty times to land one. Tom, on the other hand, resets immediately and makes adjustments in the pocket.

I thought Dana said he was going to treat Volkov as the winner of Gane/Volkov 2?

Gane on the Montreal card just in general against anybody makes sense. But I would have to think if true they simply thought it was too much of a hard sell with Volkov having the official loss + an existing loss to Tom to give it to him instead as initially promised.

Tom would almost certainly put Gane on his back, soften him up, and finish him quickly. Although, if Gane managed the win, it'd make Jones look like an even bigger jackass for ducking.

WTF is wrong with Jones? Does he know he can make bank then retire?

Just cut him already for hurting the division with his stalling.
He's gotta have massive dirt that they don't want made public or something. Anyone else who has done the things he's done, caused so much negative attention for the company, had all of the legals troubles, steroid/drug positives, etc., they'd have been canned a long, long time ago. Any reputable company would nix anyone doing the things he's done. I feel like he has to be leveraging them on some kind of massive bombshell, at this point. It is the only way I can rationalize him getting away with what he does.
