Into the Breach is fantastic. Its a masterpiece of game design. The game is completely devoid of RNG and everything happens exactly as you expect, making it like a puzzle game just as much as a strategy game. I have like 250 hours played. Very interesting since its the follow up to FTL, another brilliant indie game, but that one relies heavily on randomness whereas ITB has game mechanics so tight that randomness doesnt exist.

It's a good example, like the devs' previous offering, FTL (GOAT contender for indie games), that indie games have been far outpacing AAA games when it comes to gameplay innovation and uniqueness.

Nice try, Vek-meat.

In b4 the critics reviews don't count and 7.7 user score is terrible.

Free on Steam:
The Descendant ( it's a click/decision adventure game where you are one of the last survivors on earth after a nuclear war or something). I only played with it a half hour, but it seems really nice.

Crusader kings II: The Old Gods DLC.
So not only is the base game free, you can also play with the pagans now :)

most of these free games don't seem to be worth playing, let alone downloading. i mean, i get that they're free... but still.
