I bet dirty holt would whoop his arseThat was a weird video. I don't think you can really compare Freddie Lee to that though or even some nutcase like Charlie Zelenoff. The guy trains. He runs a business. He takes Martial Arts seriously.
Now where he gets weird is when he expresses all of this hatred for MMA. He says that it is a corruption of Martial Arts. He doesn't think they should call it Martial Arts. He even refuses to call it Mixed Martial Arts and calls it cage fighting. He doesn't like the grappling especially the ground and pound which he considers to be too violent and says that MMA fighters are damaging their bodies which is not consistent with real Martial Arts where you train only for self-defense. He also got his channel shut down for making homophobic remarks comparing MMA to gay sex. He made some weird videos that included rap songs about how MMA sucks and videos killing bugs and breaking boards and comparing them to MMA fighters. He has called numerous MMA fighters scrubs including Anderson Silva and expresses his opinion on who he considers a real Martial Artist while holding extremely high standards for who fits that category and going on rants about well-known Martial Artists who he says don't qualify. So he is weird although I think a lot of what he says is meant to be humorous.
For a long time he said he only trains for self-defense and doesn't accept challenges (several Youtubers challenged him) but recently he made a video saying he would fight Conor McGregor for the right to be called Bruce Lee in the modern era. Now he says he will fight anyone who thinks he is not good at fighting. I think McGregor is too much for him but could anyone on Sherdog take him? This isn't some skinny, untrained punk like Charlie Zelenoff who is a coward with no skills. This is a legitimate Kung Fu master who works out, lifts weights, trains and teaches Martial Arts. The question is where is he really at? What does his fighting skill look like when he isn't "safe sparring" and goes all out? I have to admit that I find the idea of watching a fight of the nature described in his challenge intriguing.
