I know there have been threads about this fight but I haven't seen one for a bit. UFC 200 is fast approaching. The first fight was competitive and close but as a big Edgar fan I still gave Aldo the nod.

Does this fight play out a lot differently? Frankie has been on the rise and has had several fights at FW since then and has looked stellar in all of them, finishing mendes, penn and Swanson and handily defeating Faber and Olivera.

Aldo has declined since the Frankie fight to me anyways. He's still a beast but he's had a tough couple fights getting knocked out in embarrassing fashion and being pushed to the brink against Chad.

Based on what we know about Frankie in rematches I think he pulls out the win and I wouldn't be shocked if he finished Aldo although that's less likely to happen than my prediction which is a 49 to 46 UD. Who are you guys taking and how do you see it playing out?

Frankie 4-1

Second choise KO along the way

Basically like you

My pick is Edgar by clean decision or possibly a late stoppage

Aldo never loses 2 in a row.

Aldo via TKO

Edgar is not losing until he meets Conor.

The first fight wasn't competitive until the second half. I think Aldo either finishes him here, or keeps the pressure on and dominates throughout.

I think Edgar is in a healthier state of mind. People favor him in a matchup with McGregor. In comparison, Aldo was crushed mentally before being ko'd by Conor in 13 seconds.

Translation; I think Edgar wins.

Hard to say. Conor may have ruined Aldo permanently. From dominant champion to KOed in one of the fastest KOs in UFC history.

Frankie has no meaningful wins at featherweight. I'd be shocked if he can hang with the likes of Aldo, let alone McGregor.

Do you have anything to base that on? Frankie was coming back in the later rounds in their first fight, since then he's been on a tear while Aldo just got humiliated and seem to have taken it extremely poorly afterwards. Based solely on empirical arguments and not just guess-work, what makes you think Aldo has become better relative to Edgar since their last fight?

He has better wins than a certain someone

Aldo 48-47, 49-46, 47-48 SD win FOTN

What does embarrassing knock out have to do with a fighter's career? The current MW champion has been "embarrassingly "(I call it spectacularly personally) knocked out a couple times and look where he is.

Lots of people counting Aldo out. If the Conor fight didn't happen, I guarantee you'd all be saying 50-45 Aldo.

50-45 Aldo.

Frankie is the little engine that could...Conor was wise to duck him, although cowardly.
