If Frankie wins tomorrow and beats Conor in the unification bout, what more would he need to do to be the GOAT in your eyes?

I think two or three title defenses at FW would do it.

Frankie is all but out of the running for GOAT. He would have to truly go on an epic title reign. But if he beats Jose and Conor and then defends the belt a couple of times...well shit...he becomes a certified legend and all time great.

But how is he "all but out of the running" in the first place?

The guy only has four losses--three of which were close decisions, and none of which were to cans. And about those decisions--two were suspect (Bendo), and one was to a legitimate contender for GOAT-hood.

He's got no Matt Serras and no Ryo Chonans, AND he's always faced top competition.

Also keep in mind that he won the LW belt as an undersized LW. And that he lost the belt to a HUGE LW, who had some success at WW.

Really, I'm surprised that he's not in the conversation already.

In my opinion he is already GOAT
Thankfully he'll get to prove it with his next two fights.

By the end of the year, there'll be no doubt.

To become the GOAT he would need to move up to heavyweight and win the belt there.

Frankie is not in discussion because he dominated when the division was weak. Also Maynard was not a top fighter (if not for the division being weak) yet fought 3 times for the belt. Finally Frankie won so many coin toss decisions its sad.

14 of his 28 fights were decision
4 losses
1 draw

that screams GOAT??

The lightweight division has never been weak, and he was one of the smallest guys in that division.

GSP won 12 decisions, a whole 2 more than Frankie. AND he lost to Matt Serra.

Frankie has never won a coin-toss decision--but he's lost two.

He wins his next two fights--GOAT status.
