Fights Macgruber at MSG in Nov. and becomes the new champ
That is all...

Even before the Nate-Conor match was announced, I've been thinking Conor never fights at 145 again, even if he wants to. He looked like he was dying at 145 weigh ins before, and now he's bigger. Win, lose, or draw against Nate, wether it's the best fight ever, or the worst, his next fight should be at 155, and winner of Edgar/Aldo should be the 145 champ. Conor's never making that weight again.

Gets smoked by Aldo lol, highly unlikely but it would set up another big rematch for Conor.

>implying that Aldo isn't a nightmare matchup for Frankie.

Not really Frankie has caught the most kicks in UFC history and has a bottomless gas tank

Both big advantages that manifested in a huge way in the first fight

No Frankie wins the rematch and then becomes to real champion because Conor vacates. Conor aint ever making 145 again.

Even if Edgar loses to Aldo he should still be one fight away from a title shot and that fight should be against Holloway. Sucks for Holloway who is on an 8 fight win streak and still has to get wins for a title shot. Conor not defending his belt has prevented two legit contenders from fighting for the belt.

Holloway's win streak, although impressive, hasn't exactly come against the murders row of the Featherweight division. His last 3 fights have been against top 10 guys and quality wins, but his best victory is still Cub Swanson. Oliviera, a guy Edgar beat easily, was also a win due to a fluke injury. Stephens is too low in the rankings to even be a potential fight for Edgar at this point. Holloway isn't undeserving of a title shot but beating Oliviera and Stephens doesn't earn a guy a title shot. Swanson maybe, and with those other 2 it's not an undeserved title shot either, but he's still yet to beat any of Aldo, Edgar, Mendes, Lamas and we all know that besides McGregor that those are the guys at the top of the division. Before Swanson's beat down by Edgar and then Holloway i'd have put him in that category too so i do give Holloway a lot of credit for that win. If he can beat one of the aforementioned top guys to pad his resume he definitely deserves a title shot.

Also i agree it's BS for the rest of the division that McGregor hasn't been forced to defend his title instead of fighting trying to fight for a LW title without even defending his and instead then getting sucked into fighting a LW gatekeeper back to back. UFC matchmaking is a joke.

You're probably right. I'd rather see the fight happen then Conor relinquish it though

Yeah, i think he Roy Jones jr'd himself out of the Featherweight division for good.

Well Frankie's only better win in last 5 fights is basically Chad Mendes. Others he fought besides that were tippy-toes out of retirement BJ and bantamweight Faber. I agree with your post, but im saying that in my opinion Holloway has more legit wins against real featherweights, but i also think Frankie is better and deserves the shot right now.

And the first fight wasn't all that close mate. I'm a massive Edgar fan, and he'd destroy Mcgregor and just about anyone at 155 except RDA and possibly Khabib, but Aldo is just a ba fight for him. He's not going to outstrike him, Aldo is a nightmare to take to the ground, and even though I think Edgar will take him down, he isn't going to submit Aldo

LOL. Aldo has only lost once - he got caught overcommitting.

What IF Aldo wins. He should be the rightful favorite. here since he defeated Frankie in their fight.

Where does all that connfidence that he loses come form?

Frankie has looked great lately and Aldo lost his last fight pretty decisively.

I think its a quite even fight this time but personally I'm favoring frankie too.

Aldo is a certainty!

Better everything (except gas tank) with the best TDD inn mma.

Aldo UD

Future doesn't look good for Conor if he doesn't beat Nate at UFC200.

He will have money, but his legacy will be dimished almost totally if he doesn't finish Nate in spectacular fashion.

Faber has never lost in a non title fight in his WEC/UFC career with exception to the Edgar fight, and we all know his pedigree as a former champ who only lost his belt via robbery (A legit as fuck Tyson Griffin beat him in a title fight too way back in another organization). You may not like Faber but he's more legit than any of Holloway's wins. And you also act like a win over Mendes is no big deal, that's a massive difference. Let's not forget Edgar was a champion and has been fighting the best of the best for a decade.

It's not impossible, Frankie is a very tough match up for Conor, gonna be hard for him to get past Aldo though.
