Frankie Edgar: 7th Greatest Ever

Frankie Edgar has had an incredible career, only losing fights against guys that should be a weight class higher. He fought Aldo to a very close decision, and Aldo walks around 10-15 pounds heavier than Edgar. I believe if Frankie had been fighting at the weight class he could/should've, he'd have a lot of title defenses. (He's the same size as many 135'ers.

After Jones, Fedor, GSP, Andy, Aldo, and MM, could Frankie be 7th greatest ever? Possibly yes.

Its hard to rate him. He won the title as a small lw. He kept it for awhile too. I think his current run is as impressive as his lw run. If he beats aldo, man that is a murderers row he ran through at fw. I love the aldo fight.
 
Dont see the case for Barao or MM over Frankie

I would say in addition to the others in the OP u can argue Hughes and Big Nog

LMFAO @ BJ over Frankie.

Frankie was a better LW than BJ. He is 3-0 over him with 2 ass beatings. And altho BJ won title @ WW he only beat 1 guy and is 2-5-1 in the division (should be 2-6). Frankies FW career > BJs WW career and BJ never wouldve given Aldo the fight Frankie did

I love Wand but no he isnt better than Frankie

Mighty Mouse doesnt have the body of work yet. He has the defenses but some of his competition just isnt up to par with Frankies (Moraga, Cariaso and Kyoji mainly). Frankies LW career VS Demetrious flyweight career is an interesting comparison but Frankies FW career so far>>>>>> Demetrious BW career. Frankie should have at least one win against Benson and Mighty should have a loss against Torres as well and arguably Ian

So your sayin no because he beat bj three times he has a better legacy? Frankie was never a dominate champion even in victory.
 
There are others fighter who de serve much more than edgar..

If he beats Aldo, he's the GOAT of the lighter fighters.
 
If Frankie gets a second belt that will definetly elevate him in terms of all time greats. Regardless he's a great fighter and a warrior
 
Really hard to rate him but he's in the same class as Sakuraba and Hendo. They fought anyone, anywhere, any weight class.
 
Frankie is arguably the truest measure of P4P

he could be fighting at BW and he won the title at LW

I actually agree with you in the Frankie\BJ subject, in the rest no.
 
The only thing that stands between Frankie and goat talk is Dana and the boys imo
