It is the best option and an absolute Genius move by the UFC.

This releases the grip of Conor on this division, and forces him to either defend next or abandon his FW belt.

I can live with that.

I do think it is unfair to both Aldo & Frankie, both guys who really deserved a title shot against the current champion, but at least one will get his wish (if Conor does go down to defend his belt).

The other one will have to go back to the drawing board. But at least they both have a chance of fighting for the interim belt.

If Aldo wins, it validates his claim for a rematch, and if Frankie wins, he will be vindicated. he will get the interim and lock on a fight he deserved for very long now!

How do you feel about it??

I do not have strong feelings about it one way or the other.

I actually really like this fight. Cause it will shut Frankie up or it will shut Aldo up either way one of them will have to close their mouth after this fight. Not that they both don't have legitimate arguments I'm just tired of listening to it.

It's a good fight, it just shouldn't have to happen, because the champion should be defending his belt, not having pointless rematches 2 weight classes higher than he should be. The whole thing is stupid. The UFC is stupid

I've always thought Edgar should rematch and beat Aldo before fighting Conor.

I agree with you, TS but its a bummer. However, the Irish owner of the UFC gets what he wants.

On a plus side for the UFC this knocks off one contender for Conor to fight which may keep him the belt longer. Considering Aldo will probably be favored here it most likely avoids a fight with Edgar, which is probably the goal.

Smart move.Frankie is possible his hardest fight at fw.And Aldo is edgars worst matchup while conor is Aldos

"After I finish Nate Diaz in spectacular fashion in the first round to avenge the only loss I'll ever have in the UFC, I'll go down and knock that bum featherweight division off the map for good" - McGregor during every promo for UFC 200

Will be shocked if Aldo doesn't get hurt during training and doesn't pull out.

"Facepalm" please don't jinx it. A part of me really is curious about how Holloway vs Frankie goes though.

I think it is a smart strategy to keep everyone somewhat happy. I doubt that it actually makes Aldo or Frankie happy, but atleast they did something to look like they care about them aswell.
But the truth is pretty much that they couldn't care less, they have already showed this couple of times. I think they made this fight to set up Conor's next fight after Diaz and to keep the Frankie and Aldo quiet for a second.
