I don't see why the UFC wouldn't grant Mir his release, at this point in his career it would be beneficial to both parties to go their own way IMO.

After this happens, will Frank Mir be next in line to fight Fedor???

I really hope so, that would be an epic fight even at this stage in their careers. Mir should also seek out a rematch with Brandon Vera in OneFC IMO. Also a great fight to make for Mir.

I actually like the idea of Vera/Mir 2 in ONE.

That would be really good for them.
 
Release Mir, have him fight Fedor at EFN on FightPass and everybody wins.

Fedor would ruin Mir. I think he has always been a bad match up for Mir, especially now. Fedor has a clear striking advantage, and Mir's ability to take punishment has never been good in the first place and has been deteriorating even further.
 
LOL @ idiots who think Mir would beat Fedor, even a 40 year old Fedor will KO Mir, he was wreckless against Fabio, a tough ass motherfucker to knock out, and he got caught with a punch and was able to recover and win 2 rounds after the beating he took.....Fedor beats Mir

How does the UFC promote a fight with Fedor on Fight Pass while not honoring the suspension for PED's? How do you think that would go over?

Mir wouldn't be able to fight for Bellator either.

Would Mir fight for Rizin? Does the UFC want to help Sakikabara??

I don't think it's gonna happen or work.

I don't think the UFC has anything to fear from Rizin so I don't see why not. They seem like an org that will last a couple years at the most.

Which is the best option for Mir?
 
His best option is to go replace the idiot on bellator commentary and start calling bellator events , if he feels like competing when his suspension is up he can fight there
 
Unless he's fighting overseas and doesn't care to have a job in any kind of MMA capacity anymore in the US, he's suspended until April 2018. Frank Mir is a smart man, he's asking for a release to obtain a job in an officiating/commentary role somewhere else.

He should call it a career. Find.a gig commentating or doing some kind of media.

And he should be nice and not fight Fedor. After what Fabio did I'd be worried Mir might actually kill the old man.
 
I would like to see Mir fight is WSOF or Bellator.
