"I think Fedor is the best in the world," Mir said. "He's so well-rounded. There's not really one aspect of his game that strikes you as overhwleming He's not the greatest striker, he's not the greatest wrestler or submission artist.
what he does do, though, is transition from one to the other. He can really expose your weakness."

However, Mir follows all that by picking Tim Sylvia to beat Fedor. You can bet that was the only part of Mir's analysis that Dana White enjoyed.

Mir's real thoughts on the GOAT when he was at the top.

I never thought Mir would beat Nog or Crocop. Like at all.

Mir is dangerous, and he does show up to fight and surprise people.

I would really really be surprised if Mir beats Fedor at any stages of their career, even now, but then again, I wonder if Mir can get Fedor in side control and get that kimura

It's almost like Mir respects Fedor tremendously but also thinks he's good enough to fight him based on their similar opponents, past their prime or not. Like he's confident in himself or something perplexing.

Wow, what a terrible fucking person. This is why I want him unconscious AT ALL TIMES

Cro cop would have ko'd mir within 2 minutes in his prime.

So hes a believer in mma math. so whomever beat pan de pano should still be able to beat Mir right now.

This is what everybody knew when Fedor was in his prime. After he slowed down etc., only then people got brave.

I dis agree with Mir, that no aspect of Fedor's game is "overwhelming". Go watch a HL of him 1 shot ko'ing guys, gnp'ing guys into oblivian, pulling subs out of nowhere off his back, throwing around hw's in the clinch like rag dolls, etc. and get back to me with the correct analysis, Frank.

Highlight reels are made to make fighter look unstoppable and overwhelming. I think Mir being a real fighter and an elite one at that is speaking on Fedor from a high level fighters perspective. One that can see details of fighters that fans do not see.
