Francis Ngannou picking up Shaq

I remember watching VHS tapes back in the day, some NBA jams or something with songs going to the clips. Was cool seeing Shaq pull the backboard down

Shaq’s size somehow never fails to astound me. How was anyone supposed to stop that, in his prime?
You don't know who Calvin Cane is do you? Good, cause neither do I.

I have a friend who met Shaq somewhat randomly. He said that his brain simply couldn’t process what he was looking at as real.

Like Shaq was some kind of special effect.

You're right according to wiki. I'd heard he beat him at the K1 GP Final, I guess technically that's true but it was a tourney and yes he got injured. Weird Sapp could beat him twice, I saw one of the fights on replay, Sapp just seemed to run at him and Hoost didn't know what to do, I'd shit myself too ha ha
Sapp was smart about his approach. A skill gap requires distance and time to usually really be at it's most advantageous. Where you can pick your openings, and capitalize on mistakes. Sapp gave him 0 space and time to work with. So the skill gap was shrunk as now sapps power was a huge influencer. Forcing Hoost to defend huge power shots with no time to gauge them. Hoost was tall, but not physically imposing enough to buck sapp away and could only really try and dodge, and succumbed to the power not being able to find an opening to land something meaningful enough to hurt sapp back enough to get him off. A good contrast example of sapp falling to a smaller guy is cro cop. Who although shorter than hoost is a lot thicker. And was able to stand his ground, and fire back with his laser crosses and kicks to wilt sapps pressure. Guys who could stand their ground to the bull rush could get Bob to crumble, but Ernesto really wasn't built to do that. More of a length and leverage fighter who struggled with great punchers at times so when he got stuck in a corner against bob he had to eat hellish punishment to get out, or would drop from it.

Huh what fight were you watching? Crocop never stood in the pocket with Sapp, in fact he barely got touched. Thats because he was constantly backpedaling hoping Sapp would walk into his strikes or tying him up anytime he got too close. And for good reason. People forget Sapp was a wrecking machine at his prime. Standing and trading with him was a recipe for disaster. That's how Sapp beat Hoost. Hoost was so stubborn he actually tried to go toe to toe lol. He could have easily won if he was more elusive
