Francis is the incarnate of the A-Level athlete fantasy

Fury's performance is weird when he's out of shape he gets beat up by literal bums, i think he didnt train and got hurt bad by ngannou and switched to a safe strategy everything backfired on him.
Its great for ngannou but dont get your hopes up on him winning a boxing fight from now against the top guys they'll all seriously train after this

I don't doubt this at all, Francis could easily get outclassed by the number 20 rank boxer in his next fight as more tape of him is out there, or the style clash is less favorable etc.....but to me that still doesn't take away that what he did is perhaps the most incredible thing ever witnessed in combat sports.

It definitely blew up on him. Fury had developed a bit of a god complex. He didn't want to agree to fair terms with Usyk and was petty enough to instead say he'd fight Ngannou and be the one to decide he gets a big pay day. Now he has been absolutely humiliated and I'm glad as he definitely needed to be knocked down a few pegs.

By the way, second generation Africans, specially Nigerians, are dominating in the NFL.
I've never watched any NFL, just some short clips here and there, but I'm not surprised to hear that. I've met a lot of Nigerians, including massive Nigerian women with cartoonishly athletic and muscular bodies. That population definitely has some super-athlete genes going around.

For sure. You can look up several articles about the emergence of Africans and 2nd generation Africans in the NFL.

francis is such an outlier, not only a gifted, talented athlete at the highest level ever, he is super educated, super smart, and has such an ability to traverse all of these situations mentally, just fucking strong. he is trilingual, and post fights, giving near perfect answers in english, enunciating perfectly, giving his thoughts real time, it is absolutely insane. he is the worlds best fighter, and possibly the smartest as well. i can't even imagine giving my thoughts in real time, after fighting the scariest motherfuckers, in a different language, and being able to be perceived, understood, listened to. just insane.

Africans do put on muscle very easily though and respond very well to PEDs

Brock Lesnar & Joshua are for me the only "a level" athletes ever produced.

Brock is a bit more impressive due the rare combo of explosion and good stamina. And he got some talented. Picked up striking defense against Hunt pretty fast but hes a WWE guy so you wont like it.

Wilder has the best raw athlecism for me. He lasted entire fights with a super high pace intensity, most amateurs with 10+ years worth of exp would die doing 3/4. Hes the only freak of nature for me when it comes to combat sports, since he can fight at multiple weight classes and still main tain what makes him special height/reach and power.

The water is filled with PEDs so maybe one of the many reason.

i can tell you are a wilder fan, but he doesn't impress me that much. coming from a basketball background, i've encountered many guys with his build and athleticism. he would be average by high level basketball standards

He would be average by NBA standards i know that. I would say NBA center athlecism sounds fair.

Hes explosive, good stamina, P4P power and retarded strength since he can punch through guards of big man and make them fly which is one of the best displays of raw strength without needing technique and he can fight at multiple weight classes without losing the things that make him special. Freak of nature by combat sport standards and i got really high standards.

Yeah im a Biev and Wilder fan because they are the only punches that really impress me. Bievs combo of P4P power, flawless technique and solid boxing skills and Wilder being the most unique puncher ive ever seen.

Brock got the achiements a la wrestling, mma, wwe and NFL and Joshua proved it at different displinces like the 100m sprint. It was amazin as fuck.

For me when it comes to modern era.

Brock probably ate a whole pharmacy each day, so he's irrelevant. He never performed at the highest level in any sport and he became a champ in the UFC when the level was still low and without USADA.

Also, he's such an "A athlete" that he was insecure his whole life about not even making it to the NFL : "This is no load of bull; it's no WWE stunt. I am dead serious about this," he said via Bloody Elbow. "I ain't afraid of anything, and I ain't afraid of anybody. I've been an underdog in athletics since I was 5. I got zero college offers for wrestling. Now people say I can't play football, that it's a joke. I say I can."

If he was such a freak, he would have win much more money elsewhere but he didn't.

As for Joshua, there are many more impressive examples than him.

for the record i've had times in my life with basketball where i couldn't move my neck for days afterwards, after guarding guys wilder's size and often bigger, from them attacking the basket so many times and leveraging there body in a way that they hit me with their shoulders and sometimes elbows on the way to the basket, at full speed. depends on who i was guarding but i was often smaller at the 2 or 3 position. and smaller guys don't often get the calls from the ref so it's not like i could get as physical back at them. in any case, that was just basketball, let alone fighting

basketball guys definatly have the potential to make great fighters although a lot depends on the chin as well

don't bring up PEDs. the reality is that 99.9 percent of high level athletes are using PEDs. Ngannou included. Fury included. you name it, they are probably using it

You can't use them as much as under USADA, so it's a completely irrelevant argument.

Even in the NFL, they have an anti-doping policy, although weaker than USADA. Maybe why Brock never made it to the NFL, that was likely already too much for him {<jordan}
