Media Francis discusses the UFC's shady business practices with Dan Le Batard

Hang on

Who is Dan the Bastard?

UFC fighters are allowed to have sponsors.
Its only during fight week they cant advertise their own sponsors.
Can't have your sponsorship on the big stage though the only thing that counts not everybody is like cowboy cerrone drinking budwiesers on the Rogan podcast

260K would be show plus win. And technically the win bonus isn't guaranteed and not part of your purse. So that might be the discrepancy, or some miscommunication.

He probably got the standard challengers fee (350K if I recall) or slightly more for the first title fight and then the standard defending champ contract for the last fight (500K flat plus PPV)

They are not. There's nothing in the contract that says the fights can't be offered all at the end.

So when they make the contract they have their base salary but in case of title fight or defending champion they get an automatic bump?

Is this negotiated individually as well or is it something standard for all fighters?

Nice tits Ngannu has, never noticed that. Pointy nipples and all… wtf?

Maybe you fighters should try to start IDK…some kind of Union to fight against this…
I'm pretty sure i saw something where it says that in the ufc contract it says that you can't be apart of a fighter union or start one. Something to that effect. Knowing the ufc and dana, I 100% believe it.

It's mostly standard, for men I believe it's LW and up get the biggest bump for title challenges, with FW and below and women getting less.

And yes, I'm not sure it's every contract, but title challengers almost always get a new contract before winning a belt. That one for sure includes the higher pay for challenging and defending.

Part of the reason you see people hang onto belts so hard is simply because they get paid a lot more for holding it, if they lose their pay goes back to normal.

They couldn't legally do that.

You may be getting it confused with clause that prevents them from joining a class action lawsuit against the UFC

Sadly he turned down the most money he could get. It’s on him

just remember everyone
