If Gane beats Lewis and Ngannou, definitely Gane. Volkov, Jairzinho, Lewis, and Ngannou are all pretty dangerous guys to get past.

Masvidal never really should have had a title shot to begin with, Usman just wanted the payday, so those two fights should only count as 1 title defense.

Imagine Gane beats Lewis tomorrow via decision, and then goes and decisions Francis in December to win the HW title if that's when they decide to make the real title fight.

Now imagine that Usman goes in and finishes Colby in devastating fashion.

Who's FOTY? The guy who outpointed three top 5 contenders and the champion in one year, or the guy who notched three brutal title defenses.

The Pride of Nebraska would take it IMO.
