100%. The fight should have been way more one sided, Poirier tends to do that. Everytime he lands a clean shot or gets hit with one he starts swinging, also defending every takedown attempt with a guillotine wasn't smart.
I'm not a JBG fan. I think brawling is some of the sloppiest and at times stupidest fighting style out there. I don't mind a good fight that's a bit back and forth. But this fight didn't need that. It was a terrible performance by poirier. This is the poirier that fans are expecting to beat conor? Come on now. I'm a dustin fan. But Conor is going to spark this dude. Dustin likes to be in [unnecessary] wars. Brawlers brawl.

I was yelling at the TV when he kept going for chokes. It was almost like he was trying to give the rounds away at times, lol.
You'd think he learned from the khabib fight not to do that, but nah. He joked about it in a recent interview with BT sport about giving up positions for the guillotine. I feel he's still got that in him. I hope not. It's not going to be useful against conor, I don't think.

sloppy fight. Just my opinion. Thought Dustin looked sloppy and turned into an unnecessary brawl.
Kinda agree here, and goddamn how badly have you been neglecting work on takedown defense when Dan Hooker takes you down almost at will?!

I like Dustin, but at this point he looks like one of the easier fights from the top 10 at LW for McGregor...which sucks because I'd love to see Conrat get smashed and humbled once more.

Yeah, that fight was a let down. Especially since he had to come from behind to get the win. Him celebrating it too was kinda cringe. I think out of hooker and dustin, dustin is the smarter fighter. I don't think he needed to go to war with this dude to win. I'm not a fan of brawls. I can't help to think as a fan of their families and long term health when they get into brawls.

it was good but dustin dominated later rounds not really foty.figgy moreno is foty

JJ vs Weili can’t be mma fight of the year. No ground, no clinch work, no takedowns.

all I can say is props to Dan he honestly made Dustin look like shit

why Dustin was so happy that he won that fight against such a lower ranked guy I don't know but straight up props to Dan

Dustin barely squeaked by

I'm not sure whether Dustin fought worse than I expected, or if it was Hooker who exceeded my expectations. Maybe both, actually.

Dustin's boxing style which lacks straights and the reach disadvantagethat he had led him to get into a brawl with Hooker, I think. Dustin is a smart guy for sure, but he has this tendency of getting carried away into brawls, and that's usually not to his advantage. That sure as hell should not do him any favors against Conrat, and Dustin hasn't showed any significant signs of improvement as far his ground game is concerned in his last few fights. I hate to say this, but unless he comes up with an incredibly well calculated gameplan that includes a few surprises and sticks to it without getting tagged, the odds of him beating Conrat look quite shitty.

I'm sure the UFC is of the same view and couldn't be happier to give their posterboy Conrat a fight they know he should win.

Agreed. Fun fight for 3 rounds, but sloppy, and the last two rounds were just a mess.

Burgos/Emmet I think wins it for me this year. But this was wild. As was Tony/Justin and Luque/Price 2.
