Former UFC fighter Steve Bossé made boxing debut yesterday

Too many shoulder issues, he wasn't able to train grappling without getting injured. That's why he pulled out of his last UFC fight, he got injured while drilling takedown defense on the wall.

Anyway he's an old man, he's 36 or 37 years old, too old for a UFC run. But in boxing he can main event some small cards in Montreal (like he did last night) or fight some old Quebec legend on a big card. He's a big name here in Quebec

Honestly shogun is on the verge of a title shot at lhw so anything is possible. Good for him tho making money boxing.

Steve Bossé 12-2 (2-1 ufc) won his first pro boxing fight.

He faced Julio Cuellar Cabrera 12-6-0-11ko's

That was a sloppy but entertaining fight.

Amusing how he still has the instinct to stand over his downed opponent, ready for followup blows, and had to be directed to his corner.

I thought MMA fighters have zero chance against pro boxers in a boxing match? My world is crumbling.

No one has said that. It's always in reference to talented boxers.

Dude is 12-7. That's a terrible boxing record. It would be like a boxer going into mma and winning a fight against some complete can. Its not a meaningful win.

What about boxers in MMA? Also 1-1 if you count Toney and Mercer
Lucas "Big Daddy" Browne who won a major title at HW (WBA ? not sure)
Loss Vs Daniel Cormier in mma.

a LOTS of mma fighter have pro boxing fight.
fewer the other way around tho.

Fuck yeah man. Bosse is a legend in these parts of Quebec. People in QC who know their shit love bosse. Dude always brings it from hockey enforcer days, MMA or boxing. Respect.

Not sure how much a fight like that can pay him

The guy is very busy, he's a fireman and (ironically) has a business selling fire wood

He's got load of local endorsement (car dealers, gyms, nutrition...) I'm sure that boxing is a better fit for him than the stiff UFC/reebok contract

Bosse was dabbing before Aljemain Sterlin ripped him off.

Am I the only one that has almost completely lost interest in boxing?

Well 1-2, Mercer lost to Kimbo. And then you got Mayorga who was 0-3 with a NC. So boxers are 1-5 with a NC....of wait, Dahon Johnson (Conors sparring partner was 9-2 as a mma fighter so its 10-5.

But Joe Duffy went 7-0 in boxing within a year when he took some time of mma. So mma guys are 8-1, I am sure there are a few more.

So in conclusion, both do well in the other sports.
