News Former UFC fighter Ray Borg retires again after another failed weight cut

I like how his ex-team even said "unwilling" to make weight, like he probably just decided to not fight. He clearly needs to find another profession, yeah hes had a rough time in life with his kid's health problems, but not making weight and not fighting doesn't really help him to make money.
They said "not willing or unable," i.e., they don't actually know what went wrong with his weight cut.

He didn't even get on the scale so unless you were in the fighter hotel with him how would you know?

That was Dominance MMA (his managers who negotiate his contracts) who said that, not his coaches or his gym.

He could just fight at 135lbs, he looked pretty good vs Simon when he did. I was shocked to see Borg is still only 29, thought he was pushing 35 for some reason.
That ship sailed since Bellator and his management, Dominance MMA, cut ties with him.

This guy is the biggest joke in the game makes Dillon Danis look like a pro. Good fucking riddance.
I have no sympathy for unprofessional fighters that try to gain an advantage and fail. +1 on the Good fucking riddance.

I feel a bit bad for him, but he shouldnt have been dumb enough to try flw again.

He had been making 135, right?

He was lretty good, sucks to see him derailed because of sheer unprofessionalism.

So he was cut from the UFC and Bellator? Instead of getting his shit together he just decides to retire. You do you

Compassion is for the weak. Nobody forced him to fight, don't sign the contract in the first place if you can't even make weight. We all got shit to deal with in life and he's been given more chances than he ever deserved. Good luck paying those medical bills on minimum wage.

Anyone who says "compassion is for the weak" is a sub-human (and most likely a pussy, when all things measure out)

Had to look twice, but that's Tony Halme
No that is Ludvig Borga!!!

Yeah but he's more known as Ludvig Borga hahahaha

Guy seemed like a scumbag in real life, but i thought the gimmick was cool as a kid,and the finnish national anthem is forever burned into my head as his theme lol
0-4 in MMA lost to Randy "Handy" Couture

His management cut him off as well, I think that's what really pushed him to retire.

And I mean, he's pretty much blacklisted from the relevant North American companies so there's not much reason for him to keep plying his trade I think.

Does PFL even have a BW div? Because if not, that pretty much means he'd be relegated to shows like LFA unless he'd be willing to make the jump overseas to One or ACA, which I doubt he'd be interested in due to his family.

Totally forgot about Ray Borg. I have only heard his name a few times from the aftermath of Conor's bus attack

I don’t want to kick a guy when he’s down , super unprofessional to miss weight though , I think walking away at this point is the best move
