Former UFC contender is fighting in Russia!

Didnt he shoot himself in the foot not that long ago?

He looks exactly like someone partying way too hard and taking drugs for years. Definitely not like someone who should step into the ring anymore.

He's been fighting bare knuckle and everything, what's up with the guy has he had drug issues or something? What's CTE?

In the context of combat sports, the manifestation of CTE (or Dementia pugilistica) symptoms is often described as becoming punch-drunk. In simple terms, it means brain damage that's likely been caused by repetitive trauma to the head over a long period of time. I find it easy to conceptualize it as the 'scar tissue of the brain', though that's not the whole truth.

thanks man, really sad if that's true :(

It is.

Acknowledging the neurological damage side of things really opened my eyes to the sacrifices that these guys make just to be able to compete in a sport that's already exceedingly brutal and difficult. Our entertainment is just a side-product of that, and really, we fans should all respect the hell out of these people for it.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Jeff Monson

Kids, ALWAYS have a legit "backup plan" if you want to fight pro. Otherwise....^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A lot of these guys who were D1 wrestlers don't seem to have one. Seems a lot didn't put their scholarships to good use and major in something worthwhile.

Thats a problem, as an athlete, you put your egg in one basket because you are so confident that you are going to make it that a second option is not even in a realm of possiblity.

Bringing poor Riggs in to get destroyed by some young dudes over there with perfect records, no doubt.

He is TKOing them with Ground and Pound. So I guess he is doing well.
