Sean O’Haire, a former mixed martial artist best known for his exploits in World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment, died on Monday at his home in Spartanburg, S.C. He was 43 years old.

The news was confirmed by an obituary posted on Tributes.com. No cause of death has been revealed as of yet.

O’Haire trained at WCW’s renowned “Power Plant” and ultimately became a three-time WCW tag team champion. He went on to spend three years wrestling for WWE.

In addition to his wrestling career, O’Haire also took part in six MMA bouts, as well as four kickboxing fights.

With a career record of 6-2, O’Haire famously fought Eric “Butterbean” Esch at Pride 32 “The Real Deal” in 2006, losing via technical knockout. O’Haire also fought once for K-1 and Champions Quest Fighting Challenge.

He wasn’t nearly as successful in kickboxing, losing all four times he entered the ring for K-1. Most notably, O’Haire was knocked out by Gary Goodridge at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2005 in Las Vegas. O’Haire last fought professionally in 2007.

Damn RIP. I thought he was pretty cool in the WWE. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

Lot of these wwf guys seem to go early. Cade, Guerrero, Benoit, Big Boss Man, Warrior, etc.

What was his name in wrestling or was it the same?

I was a big fan of wrestling during his time. That guy was never pinned on TV. Anyone who is knowledgeable about wrestling knows how big that is. He did have a coke problem and was hard to deal with in the WWE. He was suppose to have Randy Orton's spot.

He was a decent kickboxer as well.

I remember the name but i dont remember any of his WWE matches

Either way, RIP

Been watching a lot of past wrestling matches recently...

RIP

Very unfortunate hopefully he accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior before his departure from his physical manifestation of existence.

I don't want to make assumptions on a man who just passed but.

They put their bodies through a lot of stress. Constant Heavy Lifting, Steroid abuse and supplements, Massive calorie intake to keep a large frame and throwing your body viciously around a wrestling ring. Its kind of a recipe for a heart attack

The constant travel always gets overlooked too. Always being on the road really hinders your bodies ability to stay 100%.

RIP.

Wow! Has anyone seen the 101 reasons wrestling documentary? O'Haire is profiled in it and talks about the business Candidly. For whatever reason, I really liked O'Haire. As a young athlete, he was full of potential... Shame.

true. I always thought professional wrestling and many other high intensity sports are probably really hard on the heart. You never hear of football players or ex boxers living into their 100's

Was his Pride fight the one where Butterbean looked shocked/surprised he just won a fight in Pride and started freaking out? It was so damn funny, it was like he expected to go in there and lose again but ended up getting the stoppage and was stunned.

Damn....poor fellow. Butterbean hits pretty damn hard.

This makes me sad. I'm sad now. RIP to Mr O'Haire.
