I agree. Even if he had to wait a while (e.g., let Jake fight the Fitch/Palhares winner first) it would've been worth it. He now has a 1st round lost, and it looks like he's either (a) stupid or (b) lying about the arm. It's a lose-lose.

For the record, I think Jake would've won anyway, but if Ford had taken him to a relatively close decision, he'd look much better.

I'm not doubting his toughness. I'm questioning the decision of mid-level fighter w/a broken arm taking on a Top 10 WW. That was dumb. He should've pulled out.

i was cheering for Shields and i have no problem with him saying that. It is what it is. I like to know that. I still think the same thing would have happened but nothing wrong with letting it be known. It may have looked better if he let a reporter do it though.
