McGregor is a genius. Went from a handout bum to one of the richest men around within just a few years.

Its only the best paid combat sports athletes, not overall.

Carlos Tevez is making £750,0000ph playinh football in China for example... fuck knows what Lebron makes.

Would be something if really was just fighters though, wouldn't it?

I don't understand.

This is for fiscal 2017, right?

Because Conor hasn't fought this year, and Joshua made a shitload of money from the Parker fight.

They call him money for a reason.. but holy shit...for fuck sakes

McGregor is smarter than he gets credit for. Everyone knew Honda was the biggest draw in the UFC during her championship run but her 'beef' with Floyd would never lead the two in a boxing ring or octagon. With McGregor, you had a superstar champion striker who was around the same size as Floyd and a 'notorious' trash talker. All he had to do was sell people that he could beat actually beat Floyd in a boxing match. Got him a 9 figure salary that he wouldn't have gotten fighting in the UFC over the next 5 years.

Gotta give Conor and Floyd props for what they were able to do.

It actually is overall. Follow the link. It even says overall in the link in the OP.

Too bad McGregor has lawsuits, spends like a silly boi, and doesn't know how to invest properly.

Was originally curious confused but apparently is last 12 months not calendar year.

I'm pretty sure this is just contractually.
Not including endorsements.

It's funny he's the only MMA fighter on that list, and he earned most of that money from a Boxing ring lol.

step your game up UFC.

Not going to happen when Dana is on one of the company's subsidized media properties talking about how they don't pay fighters.

I remember a Canadian prospect from several years back who declined a UFC contract because he got a big promotion at his city transit job right before the offer came in.

I thought that was insane at the time, but now I'm honestly surprised that more fighters who have reasonable options don't walk away.
