For those that think GSP is on something

Everybody on Sherdog has a major in medicine. What's the source for HGH making an adult's skull grow?

I'm not sharing the name of my lecturerer for the sake of my own anonymity.

I do remember the lectures we had regarding the structure of the brain with a specialization in growth hormone. Basic summary: If you take HGH your body will start to grow uncontrollably. Especially limbs but also other body parts.

No he's an MMA fighter, and yeah his shoulders and traps have blown up in those pictures, sure he always had the same shape to him, that's called genetics, but you can clearly see he's enhanced in those photos
No, actually you can't.

So far you have not explained why GSP has the shoulders you claim are "enhanced" in pictures that are supposedly before GSP took PEDs.

So far you have not explained why his shoulders are the only place he gained "enhanced" muscle growth. Why would someone with what you claim is great genetics have zero muscle growth anywhere but his shoulders?

GSP was 20lbs lighter than he is today in those pics and he was walking around in the 170s, and weighed in for a title fight at 167 iirc .. while making himself unnaturally big with PED abuse ...

{<huh}

Pretty sure. They used people with hormone diseases as examples of abnormal face growth. Jaws in James Bond was one example. Bigfoot would be another.

Lecturer talked about athletes using HGH and have to change shoe sizes, use braises, etc. Because of said use.

Remember a guy who retired from MMA and started using braises in his 30s?

That said, I know many UFC fighters who have used steroids and look normal. Chael look normal.

There is also another guy with a name that reminds with "blend" that everybody swears is not on peds, but a ufc coach I talked with explained why said person doesnt look like a ped user...

As someone who has coached on a high level in the UFC.. i have some limited inside information. I will not go into details but I think its hard to believe someone is performing in the top 10 against ped users and manage to be natural.

I'm still dumbfounded as to why some will change facial features on hgh but why others would not. Im no expert on peds (only hormones in the body), but I would be inclined to believe those who do not develop said features use other PEDs like EPO and steroids who are different from regular HGH.

Steroid experts can better explain this than me.

GH can act in adult cartilaginous tissues: so, ears, nose, etc, can respond to it with growth. The epiphyseal plates that cause bone growth are already mature in adults, so abuse of GH in adults, as PEDs, hasn't been studied very well. Therapeutic use of GH has been studied, and certain bones do grow, along with the soft tissues.

What will not grow are bones with long-gone epiphyseal plates, like the ones in our skull. It's the surrounding structures of our heads and the jaw bone that can be affected. Feet and hands too. It really depends on age too.

The "skull" itself is unlikely to grow.

Doesn't match reality. There's millions of athletes using high doses of HGH for different purposes, never seen evidence of an adult's skull growing.

He's been on PEDs since ever, so the changes are subtle.

You need your own safe space.

I do agree that a lot do not show these signs. But what about Tito, Dana, Rogan?

Aw man you know I love a good argument and a banter but you know what?

It's cool, GSP is full natty, never touched a drop
You've converted me

The problem is that you'd have to conduct a proper study. You wouldn't pass an ethical committee to study healthy adults taking a hormone like that. And no athletes or amateurs taking it in anonymity would volunteer, nor would that be approved by an ethical committee. So, it's a subject likely to remain iffy for a while.

On the other hand, the effects of GH in people with pituitary disorders is well known.

I don't care if you think he is natty or not. I am simply showing why the reasons you choose are not reasons. GSP could have been pounding every PED known to man the last 10 years. Here he is at UFC 50, same shoulders. GSP never magically developed shoulders, he's looked like that his whole life.

This is GSP in 2002 when he first started MMA, same shoulders. So unless you are arguing GSP was taking steroids his whole life, for some weird unknown reason, his shoulders are not evidence. That doesn't make GSP clean, it just makes his shoulders meaningless.

With millions of athletes abusing HGH surely there would be a lot of unusually big heads out there at least? Internet would be filled with before-after-pictures where you can see a difference.

You just got ChaelD. He's really wise.

Sometimes it's just easier to let naive people carry on

If you think a multi million dollar athlete is on protein shakes and vitamins

You got bigger worries in life

Subjectively assessing head sizes does not qualify for a scientific fact. You'd have to study it properly, and it's pretty much impossible.

Oh, this seems to be his biggest preoccupation. So, it's a good life.

Yes, his shoulders are evidence of androgen abuse. They changed a lot since 2002.

It's not whether people believe he's natty or not. It's the amount of evidence, that even you provide, that he is NOT.

Also I think the point he's missing is that

Whatever juice he's on,
It ain't 'muscle in a bottle' still takes a long time to develop such small muscles like delts and traps
He could of been on his whole career easily

I just posted a picture of the beginning of his career. That means his steroid abuse would had to have started before his career for his shoulders to be enhanced.

Does that make sense to you?

Ockham's Razor.

He has a cause. Makes for good "sherdogging".

But that is true: people got accustomed to the "Vitor deflation" and conflate all PED usage to very fast changes. It's not so clean cut, especially if used intelligently.
