Conventional wisdom says Canelo easily, Crawford is essentially jumping up three weight classes to fight an undisputed champion, that has never happened in the history of boxing against a caliber of opponent such as Canelo.

But if you asked me who is a better boxer at this stage of both of their careers, I'd say Crawford. The issue is he has every single thing stacked against him in this fight.

The problem with getting a win against Canelo is that you can't just beat him, you have to KO him or dominate him for 10-12 rounds, otherwise you aren't getting the decision. So either Crawford dominates Canelo on the cards, or he needs to KO Canelo who hasn't even been knocked down in 67 professional fights. Logically, it's just extremely unlikely for Canelo to lose this fight. Bud has surely left no stones unturned for this fight, he has clearly done everything possible to prepare in the last year. But once they are in the ring, it's going to be an uphill battle.

If this fight was at 160, it would be much closer to a 50/50 fight. That's how much Canelo has seemingly declined, and how superb of a boxer Crawford is. As things stand now it's like 80/20 in Canelo's favor, he basically has too many advantages to lose but I'll be pulling for Crawford to make history, hopefully he still has good speed, footwork, and his power carries to 168.

Canelo by decision.

Both are elite elite boxers. They respect eachothers skills so I suspect neither will take huge risks. Both are defensively sound.

All of this points to a fairly close and competitive sparring session, in which case the bigger man with a little more tread on the tires (35v 37 almost 38) who is a bigger draw and has more potential income he can generate will get the decision.

Personally I think Bud is a technically better boxer.

Canelo is very fundamentally sound and knows very well how to keep himself safe and guarded.

It goes the distance in a coin flip and that coin goes to the guy who makes more money and sells more tickets/ppvs.

I can see Bud having success landing the left hook/shovel hook/uppercut out of southpaw stance by finding the timing ot placement to split Canelos guard due to mirror stances favoring rear hand shots.

I expect to see Canelo have more success inside so if he can force a "fight in a phonebooth" that will be favorable to him but Crawford will know to expect this and I see him using angles and distance to stay outside. His ability to fight out of both stances will help him avoid being cut off or trapped in the corners, but he will need to spend time "on his bicycle" to do this. He is a professional and looks to be in tremendous shape so I doubt he gets tired. (Also I don't see Canelo trying to push a pace wnough to tire out Bud)

I would LOVE to be wrong about this but I don't expect to see either man on the canvas. I could see Crawford landing clean but Canelo has a granite chin and I think even if he is caught he will be able to eat it. And his posture and tendency to stay in his shell and keep his chin tucked, along with not over extending or swinging wild will mean he won't be caught while off balance or with his chin up.
Basically this, but Crawford has an almost unnatural ability to land hard pinpoint shots out of nowhere so I’m hoping for a slightly more violent affair

Canelo is use to fighting 6+ ft tall guys that weigh 180-190 and Crawford looked small against Madrimov.

I think the size is going to be too much, but Bud will have his moments.

Canelo sleepwalks his way to an easy decision here. People are hying themselves up way too much for this fight.

I'm hoping for it too.

I just think the reasonable default expectation is elite sparring.

But it just takes one punch to set that off kilter and create mayhem and a proper scrap. We can hope.

I have only ever watched Canelo, so i went with him. Don't know anything about the other guy other then he is apparently undefeated. To me, that just means he never fought Canelo.

I am going with Crawford by decision, too fast and accurate.

people are looking at this too much on paper.

canelo is 35 but has the amount of fights someone has had at 42.

the same canelo who showed up against Bivol wasn't the canelo who showed up against Saunders or Golovkin, size difference and skill of Bivol aside.

he is slower, far less volume and loads up power shots only with his flat-footed style that doesn't work against technicians like Crawfish who will use that against him.

Canelo will NOT be knocked out and by Crawford zero chance of that it'll just be a mildly convincing decision victory with questions on if Canelo should hang up the gloves right after.
