For all you that think boxing is on the decline and MMA on the rise...

Of course it does. Makes people more invested since it has a story behind it. Does he still have what it takes?
It also makes people forget about him.

guess we’ll see. He hasn’t really been a household name.

MMA has definitely ruined boxing for me. There's so many awkward moments in boxing where it's illegal to strike

I don't understand this feud between MMA and boxing. Does it matter which sport is on the rise or on a decline? Most level headed people would however say that boxing is on a decline and listing a bunch of "stars" doesn't really help your case.

Boxing has a much better HW division than the UFC, but other than that UFC beats almost every other division.

Lately another bullshit statement came out of Danas mouth and this thread will set things right. Same guy who let CM Punk fight in the UFC because they were desperate while Logan has legit wrestling and athletic ability behind his fame.

Regarding boxing:

Currently these guys in boxing are on the rise, the first two names are on a slight decline but still hold great power and the rest are great champions that are relevant to the sport.

Adrien Broner
Kell Brook
Errol Spence
Devin Haney
Gervonta Davis
Chris Colbert
Terrence Crawford
Tyson Fury
Deontay wilder
Anthony Joshua
Lomachenko
Teofimo Lopez

I think people who say that boxing is on the decline and that MMA is surpassing boxing in popularity are too far in the MMA bubble and they are letting their bias cloud their judgement. MMA is really popular in North America, Brazil, and Japan. But boxing is far more popular worldwide. Shit, MMA is still considered a niche sport in most European countries. It's true that MMA is on the rise and it's more popular than it was say 10 years ago, but it has a long way to go before it surpasses boxing in popularity.

Is that Logan Paul? Boxing is boring as fuck!!! Except the main event.

Some undercard fights are super exciting, Billy Joe Saunders fought in an undercard and so did Jake.

Boxing is boring and garbage one dimensional sport.

They’re lucky that MMA orgs didn’t exist in the 1950s or else, they would be irrelevant and all their stars would be UFC legends.

Lol, boxing is a poor mans sport, people who grew up to be great boxers are guys who grew up on the streets. They wouldn't have the money to train in MMA. Its a nice little racket, you over charge people and stuff them in a room full of others, have them hold pads for each other and pretend to be a part of a magical fight club.

MMA for most parts is a scam, the greatest fighters of all time have mastered a form of martial arts. Rory is the only fighter who happens to be have MMA as his fighting style and yet he told Rogan that he wishes to do boxing matches because he likes the rhythm of boxing more.

Ken Shamrock was a shootfighter and that is MMA and guess what?

Nobody gives a flying fuck about Shootfighting. Its not even cool to be considered a shootfighter despite the fact that Shootfighting was the original style of MMA. Yet no one buys it.

Also people find joy from grappling. Most people love striking, they love boxing more because you get to be mobile and less stationary than Thai kickboxing. From a place of joy, boxing is way more fun and due to the nature of defense, you can preserve yourself if you are committed to learning defensive skills. In MMA, you fall apart quickly because its so wild and unpredictable.

MMA did exist in 1950s. it was called Vale Tudo, Gene Lebell fought in and won, nobody cared about MMA.

Common man!!

Canelo and GGG are that famous, but you had to mention Fury, Wilder and Joshua?

Look, I named names and Canelo and GGG would be too obvious and so I went for more obscure but still famous fighters.

Check Instagram followers. MMA personalities are more popular.

CM Punk wasn't scheduled to fight Khabib in his first UFC bout. He fought a couple of no-names and got put in his place. Logan is booked against Floyd Mayweather.

???

Boxers have more on the higher end of the spectrum.

I don’t think anyone active in MMA outside of Conor has anything close to Anthony Joshua 11.6 M, Canelo 7.1M, Manny Pac 6M, Ryan Garcia 7.7 M.

Jon Jones is the most popular active fighter outside of Conor and he’s at 5M.

After that you have guys like Izzy and Jorge who have similar followings as Tyson Fury, Wilder, Gervonta Davis. 2.7-4 M range.

Id say a fair portion of AJs following is females wanting the D moreso than being boxing fans.

Khabib is at 26 million. The supposed biggest stars of boxing aren’t on the level of the biggest stars in MMA

Allright so let me analyze the situation real quick from the point of view of everyone that's not a hardcore boxing fan

"oh yea thats the guy who lost to the mental health guy right"

"OMG that guy is soooo hot"

Only people that actually follow the sport of boxing know who these guys are. There's a reason why Mayweather vs Logan Paul is happening AND it being the most talked about/anticipated fight of the coming few months.

If you don't know who guys like Lomachenko, Spence, Crawford, Gervonta Davis, Broner, etc. are, then you're just an idiot and must not follow combat sports at all. And the meme wasn't funny the first time you used it, let alone 9 times.

Same guy who let a green Brock Lesnar get a title shot
