Let's put aside the fact that no one likes seeing the hobbits fight.

There are only 26 flyweights in the UFC. That's a good four years since the division was first shoved down our throats. You figure there would be more by now as they promised from Asia and South America. Meanwhile the two divisions that people rightfully complain are shallow, HW and LHW, have 44 and 35 fighters respectively.

There are more women's BW and SWs.

Why does the UFC insist on these tiny fighters hogging up card space? 201 has THREE flyweight fights. Ugh!

Shut up man. I like flyweight fights. Who cares if they're short. If the UFC could tap into the smaller athletes found in Latin America or Asia it would be one of the best divisions to watch, their speed is a thing of beauty.

A bad FLW fight > a bad HW fight.

I don't think it's more than 4'6" deep at the most.

They should just close it. It was only opened because they were sick of getting beaten up by Cruz.

Congratulations you just became "that guy"...

Please tell us ALL about how you also enjoy WMMA, good sportsmanship, and Low-carb Appletinis...

Theyre doing a TUF flyweight show featuring some of the best flyweights in the world considering theyre champs from other orgs and from a couple names ive seen some good talent and top name guys.

LHW is far more shallow. Talents like Scoggins and Borg are currently at bottom of flyweight rankings......versus Villante, Cummins Latifi @ LHW??? LMFAOOOOOOOOO

Flyweight is shallow no doubt.

But WBW, SW and LHW are undoubtedly more shallow. Its about as shallow as HW but Flyweight actually has legit up and coming talent unlike HW. Sherdawgies are freaking out about Ngnanuu of all ppl lol

plenty of flyweights out there ufc just doesn't sign them

Magomed Bibulatov - 12-0
Kairat Akhmetov - 23-0

no clue why those 2 aren't in ufc now

Pietro Menga (13-0), who has just fought for Bellator, would be another great pick-up.

Flyweight is deeper than HW and LHW. The #20-30-ranked flyweights are more skilled and better athletes than the #20-30-ranked HWs and LHWs. The reason the UFC division isn't as big is because the UFC chooses to not sign as many flyweights as they do HWs and LHWs, because the demand for lighter weight divisons is obviously lower than for heavier weight divisions. People like watching big heavyweight sluggers even if they're not particularly skilled. But the mid-level 5ft5 fighters don't have much appeal.

I like flyweights. Don't watch if you don't.

Nothing wrong with the Flyweight division. Plenty of exciting fights coming from down there

The top heaviness in FLW is more a problem than its shallowness IMO. There are a lot of young, talented, and exciting fighters in the division who can make some waves, but Mighty Mouse has that shit on lockdown and JoeB being the second best isn't helping matters. TUF won't just bring in a new challenger but give the division some extra depth. Still, if they're just going to lose to MM and get picked over by JoeB, it's not going to help. Until one of those guys is out of the picture, it's going to be kind of stagnant.

LHW, on the other hand, is top heavy and just a barren wasteland. Shogun is still in the top 10 ffs. That division needs a miracle at this point. I think you could combine it with Bellator and WSOF's divisions and it still wouldn't be that hot.

People love to see Heavyweight fights, until they go past the 7 minute mark.

HW & LHW are worse in terms of depth and prospects.

I like some WMMA. It's a low standard so only the top fighters like JJ and Holm interest me. Prelim WMMA normally disappoints me but there are times when you get a great fight.

I don't care about sportsmanship.

I prefer FLW to HW. Gonzaga is still in the UFC HW roster. His fights could cure insomnia. The best divisions are FW-WW, fighters like McGregor, Aldo, Lawler, Nayt Diaz are not found in large numbers in other divisions.

I don't drink appletinis, I drink whiskey.

I disagree about 205. Whilst it has been stagnant for some time, you have guys like Cirkunov, Cutelaba, and Krylov putting on great fights, and they will be around for some time.

Plus, if the UFC managed to sign McGeary, there would be even more competition for the top guys.
