From bleacherreport and Abel Sanchez so take it with a grain of salt. But this fight would sell 2.5 million ppvs and pay Floyd that 100 million he wants for a comeback fight.

He is saying things about a comeback, he just seems to be fixated on Golovkin. I’ve seen three or four pieces in the last couple of weeks where he’s talking about beating Golovkin, it looks like he’s laying the ground work for something, whether it’s Golovkin or somebody else. Floyd’s laying the ground works for a comeback.

[...]

[Regarding Mayweather's interest in a Golovkin fight] I think you lay the ground work, you say things to see how people react, you say things to see if it’s something that the public wants and he’s gauging that. We’ve always known that Floyd was a great businessman, so it’s all part of a plan for him. There’s nothing that he says or does that is not calculated.

You think it would sell that much? GGG isn't a draw, he sold 150K PPV's last time out. Maybe people would pay for the Floyd comeback though.

Because no one in the mainstream knew who Lemuiex was. Gennady is getting bigger by the minute. Sold out his fight at MSG in one week.

ESPN, sports center, and first take have been talkin about triple G more lately too.

Floyd vs undefeated middleweight champ does it numbers. Casuals and hard core would buy.

Takes two draws to get a number that big, we can't forget that Floyd's last fight only did 500K. If they marketed it properly perhaps, maybe sell that Floyd is going for 50-0, get creative with it.

Berto is crap. No one cared for that.

Floyd vs Gennady would be huge. Leonard vs Hagler level hype and even more in this social media age.

I hope you're right because I would like to see it, think we all would.

RR said in another thread that if this fight happened, GGG would be drained to hell, and whilst I respect Floyd's need for a catchweight, I just wouldn't want to watch this fight.

What weight would it be contested at?

The one fight I'd be rooting against GGG in. Don't want to see it if GGG's drained to shit though. Who am I kidding would still watch.

I think you're lying, I'd say anyone posting in this forum would watch this fight gladly.

Floyd wants 52. That is his number. Like I said, not happening unless GGG goes Christian Bale in The Machinist

Floyd wouldn't take this fight unless he expected GGG to be in a sauna doing bikram yoga right up until the starting bell.

And no, GGG that dehydrated is not a good fight

I get what he's saying, though, GGG being a corpse in the ring wouldn't be a good look, but we'd all still watch, obviously. It's one of those fights that's extremely intriguing but almost seems like a bad idea for both sides. If Floyd wins, people will bitch about GGG being weight drained, if GGG wins, then people will bitch about GGG being too big in the first place. Then again it's a great idea for both sides, b/c money. Lots and lots of money.

yeah, that's a brutal cut. I'm sure GGG could negotiate something around 154 if he sold out his soul, mother and 95% of the profits, but either way, a brutal cut.

Just too much. As a GGG fan I don't want him to try. I saw a drastic weight change (up and down)ruin RJJ) and a minor one ruin Chad Dawson.

From a business perspective I would get it. Can't tell a guy who came from nothing not to take around 18 mil. That's a tough coversation

Floyd will wait and see how Canelo-GGG plays out.
