nothing, really. there are plenty of 10th planet black belts who are legit as fuck. but a lot of the BJJ community somewhat looks down on 10th planet, because their style diverges from some core jiu jitsu principles.

they don't do any gi, a lot of their moves rely heavily on flexibility, it's centered around the rubber guard, they give moves retarded names (like "crackhead control"), they all wear atrocious gear, and the stereotype 10th planet competitor looks like a hobo. it's basically a jiu jitsu gym for hipsters.
