Fixed fight?

I don't want to come across too harsh, but, I question if understand how betting works.

You keep saying that but dont seem to know either
The biggest reason to fix a fight is the financial incentive. So, in addition to controlling the narrative - ie. the UFC might fix a fight to create a desired storyline such as Gane being the # 1 contender for a big market (France/Europe) to boost future PPV viewership and ticket sales. Volkov winning this fight hurts the UFC financially.

Another big financial incentive, and this could come from the UFC, or corrupt judges / referee, is the potential for large financial gains from placing bets on the "fixed" outcome, especially when large sums of money are involved in high-profile fights. People who do not bet may not understand the the $ value of these types of bets.
