Hey guys,

It's my first time playing fantasy baseball and to be honest I'm really not too familiar with baseball (my brother invited me to participate in his league). I know my pitching is a bit weak so I'm hoping to trade Pujols for a better SP and maybe Rios also. But are there any other suggestions that you guys might make? Any advice?

I do like it, just don't follow it, I'm actually excited learn more about sport and get into something new. Last few days I've spent a good amount of time just learning about the espn set up and what my league rules were.

Any advice?

Patience.

Baseball season is loooooong. Guys go through long slumps, don't overreact to anything.

I've found if you just keep your interest level high and keep making roster moves and everything all the way to the bitter end, you'll end up in a decent position to possibly win. Lots of FB players will fade after the all star break but if you stay on top of it, you can make the free agent pick ups and make sure you've always got the best roster in your starting lineup. i.e., not leaving a guy on the 15-day DL in your staring lineup, or keeping a closer that got demoted in your lineup, etc. Just making sure you take care of all that shit should get you to the top half of most leagues, unless it's a big money league or they're super into it.

Strasburg is back after Tommy John that kept him out of 2013, you may be able to get him for a good trade. I expect him to be the Nationals ace all season.

Also others are Chris Sale, Felix Hernandez, and Ubaldo Jimenez.

Keep Gio, hes going to have a great season i think(great for a Marlins franchise i mean.)

SS i always get Ben Zobrist, great utility guy that can play SS/2B/OF

I get Adam Dunn too if he's available, he strikes out like no other but has gotten 30 home runs or more(minus that abysmal 2011 season) since 2009. He can be a great back up.

Yeah, this is something I hadn't thought of but I looked at the schedule now and it's longer than I thought, but that's good to me. I will definitely stay on top of my lineup, but hopefully there's a noticeable difference between my understanding of this stuff after all star break.

Thanks man, I'll check into those guys.
