Elections First Presidential Debate Discussion: 9/26/16

Who won the debate?

The Donald's camp has a talking point today "Hillary Clinton over prepared", apparently being prepared is a bad thing according to them. Funny stuff.

Trump is just godawful at debating.

Take the Iraq war for example - yes he's lied about his position on it over and over but he had room to work with. He was a private citizen at the time and at worst he offered up a half-hearted "Yeah, I guess so" on Howard Stern. I think if anything he was pretty indifferent about it. Hillary Clinton actually voted for the damn thing. Instead of pointing that out Trump goes on a hilarious rant about talking to Sean Hannity and looks like retard.

The fact that the Iraq War topic ended up scoring points for Hillary is a testament to how utterly useless Trump is.

Anyone being honest will say that Hillary dominated. She handled everything with class, honesty and humor. I am one of her toughest critics and even I was surprised at how well she did. No wonder Trump is considering doing no more debates

None. He just got gorilla fucked by a superior intellect more prepared for the job.

That was a gorilla fucking to you? Really looked like he was framing the interaction, even with respect to the moderator.

4chan and Reddit bombarded debate polls to declare Trump the winner

Donald Trump supporters artificially manipulated the results of online polls to create a false narrative that the Republican nominee won the first presidential debate on Monday night.

The efforts originated from users of the pro-Trump Reddit community r/The_Donald and 4chan messaged boards, which bombarded around 70 polls, including those launched by Time, Fortune, and CNBC.

Does anyone else fail to see the logic in Trump's whole "I'll release my tax return if you release your 33,000 emails!" bit? That position would make sense if Trump and Clinton were in a bubble that was just the two of them, kind of a "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" but they're not. There's an independent, interested third party to the information -- namely the American people. I don't see how Trump was supposed to score points with the People by saying "I'll show the skeletons in my closet if Hillary shows hers". If he's campaigning on the platform of "Crooked" Hillary, and saying she's hiding something with the emails, and that he's not hiding anything, then why connect the two? By making this ultimatum I think he's inadvertently insinuating that he is in fact hiding something, that the tax returns should be somehow equated to the emails.

I'm not sure if there's any relevant and material information that is being hidden in the tax information, but if not then I think this may be a bit of a gaffe on his part.

But dude, it's against his lawyers wishes! What a classy guy, taking the high road despite what his ruthless lawyers are advising.

I totally agree with your point though. He made himself look guilty there.

Like i said im on my phone so get over it.

Also, your point about knowing some rich businessman still makes 0 sense. Youre not in the meetings, and you dont have a business degree, and working for or with a wealthy businessman doesnt qualify you to have a knowledgable opinion on trumps business deals.

You just want to tow the bs line that hes a bad businessman who is after the little guy and hes a big meanie and hes ripping people off etc.. What little youve already said has proven your understanding of business is very limited.

Shes at 3 lies? Lol? You serious?
She lies constantly and they are worse than trumps lies. Of you think shes only lied 3 times you need to start learning a little more about her because thats hilarious.

Lying about sniper fire was a mistake, yeah thats a nice way to put it. Trump might lie but im pretty sure he would never completely fabricate a story like that.

Is trumps lies, like saying he never said global warming was a hoax, Is that worse than lying about deleted emails, benghazi, sniper fire and the 1000 other lies shes told? Nah..

Man... Trump is 70 years old. He lost tons of money and business opportunities running for president. I have no idea why some people like you think he has a hidden agenda. He wants to get america back on track do you not understand his ideas when hes talking in his speeches? Hes clearly trying to save the US before you guys flatline.

If trump has a hidden agenda then hes the most convincing liar ive ever seen and may actually be the antichrist.

I dont buy it, hes trying to help

OK. I don't know business, but you do apparently. Why don't you elaborate on your credentials since you're more qualified to give a business opinion. Tell us what you do for a living. Are you saying you don't even live in America?

He's not very convincing to a huge number of people. Hillary Clinton has made mistakes and has said things that weren't true. She's also owned up to those mistakes and lies and made effort to do so. Trump has not. Trump was gifted a successful business and career by his father. That doesn't make him a great businessman. That makes him connected.

See we have two options, Trump or Hillary. There's not third choice for us at this time. So saying Trump and Hillary are both liars does nobody any good because one of them still winds up with the nuclear football soon.

It is funny. I remember Dems in '12 being more accepting of the loss. Could be wrong, just what I remember.

You think Trump will fail to learn from this? I'm predicting his stamina holds out a lot better next time, at the town hall debate. But maybe he will come in without a solid plan again.
I think it will be largely the same except he will have a few specific areas he hammers her on much harder. Gonna try and reproduce the first 15 minutes of this debate for as long as possible during the next one.

One of the most interesting things, thinking back on last night, is how low the Trump bar for truthful statements has been set. We're spotting Trump like 10 lies here before we even bother digging in on them. The only thing Hillary lied about was claiming how close Iran was to getting a nuke, which wasn't technically even a lie. Donald lies nearly every time he speaks, and it's barely noticed.

To be fair, she also said she didnt call the TPP the gold standard or support it.

She absolutely did support it, and Trump being a ridiculous liar doesnt mean she gets a free pass to lie.

And he had the gall to criticize the very 400lb nerds that "cyber" on his behalf

It's an epic troll honestly.

All the Trump tryhards trumpeting these shit polls all over the internet today. (Even when everyone who watched it knew who won and who lost)

Last night they were somber and heading to bed early... then they woke up to all the BS polls and got a second wind.

Get real. Hillary did well, but she didn't destroy him.

She absolutely and utterly destroyed him. The last 2 sections were on direction of country and terrorism / national security -- both are low hanging fruit topics to go after clinton, and he failed; miserably.

When "the cyber" came up -- instead of pointing out the obvious that her track record on internal communication is highlighted with bad judgement, breaking policy and as a result, being hacked -- he decided to talk about how his 10 year old son can use the internet.

Iran nuclear deal -- he could've easily said it was failure on the grounds that it allows Iran to keep all the equipment, mining and facilities needed to produce enriched U235 and p239; that Iran has historically been hostile and resistant to inspections after to agreeing to them (including recent reports that they blocked inspectors from many facilities) ; and that the sanctions were lifted on them BEFORE proven cooperation from Iran was had -- as seen by the recent sale of boeing aircrafts to them.

Just two of the myriad of missed softballs he failed to take advantage of. Instead, he decided to go the route nonsensical blabbering and embarrassing statements that just reeked of unpreparedness.

As someone who has voted conservative for the vast majority of his voting age life -- how can anyone, seriously vote for a guy who cant even hit softball questions and does bother prepping for a debate? I can't imagine what he will do when an actual, pertinent dossier comes across his desk.

I have never said this before and i never thought i would-- but i dont care how much money i gain from a conservative tax plan -- its not worth trump.
