Trump, who at first called for Lester Holt removed until he found he was a registered republican, has already told Holt he doesn't want any fact checking done by the moderator. His game plan is pretty obvious. Spew out bullshit for an hour and hope something sticks.
From what I've seen over the last few days, even the lefty media knows that Hillary is going to get obliterated in the debates and they're trying to prep people with a "just because Trump is the better talker doesn't mean he'd be the better president" slant. A few Dems have already claimed they fear Trump will tell lies during the debate (rich coming from the Clinton camp), trying to plant seeds in the minds of the public and minimize the damage before it even begins.
That's funny, but I think there's a good point there- they might both end up being reserved because they don't want to fuck up (and they might want to look credible). I wonder if Trump knows that a boring debate is a loss for him. He's actually in a really tough spot, as he has to rile up the yahoos, but can't turn America's stomach.
Pretty well said. At this point I think both candidates are going to have trouble changing peoples minds. The best they can hope for is to change a few minds and energize their bases to get good turnout.
Trump has to be the most intelligent appearing version of himself, while still actually being himself and simultaneously not be too much of a bully or a dick. A tight rope if there ever was one. He will not be able to sound bite his way through this one.
Hillary needs to not have any 'physical manifestations' of any kind during the debate. Which until a couple weeks ago I thought was a non-issue. Her 'health event' really, really hurt her. I did not see that one coming. People get sick and get pneumonia and all that, but that image of her stumbling and needing help like that is going to stay in peoples minds all the way until the election. That is a very legitimate issue a lot of people really care about. She needs to put it to bed during the debates with her physical performance.
Really I think both probably want to leave without spilling too much blood. I am beginning to smell a performance that does not live up to the hype. And if that is what happens, it will probably be a Hillary UD 30-27 score. Because when they replay the comments, there will be substance to what she said.

Fighting out of the Blue Corner
She is potentially an eplileptic lizard person!
Hillary Clinton
Biggest debate of all time!!!
Who you guys got?
What are you on the look out for?
Over/under on Hillary coughs?
I've never been more excited for a presidential debate EVER!
If mentally challenged people porn was legal, Hillary could make a career in it. That last GIF is amazing. I bet she can put two BBCs in that mouth, hell, even three, if you ask me
Fuck it. Personal and sensationalist attacks is what got Donald to the table -- he should jab at Clinton as much as he can to see If he can get her to break. The bar is higher for her; trump can trump but Hillary can't take the bait.
She has to be preparing for it but I'm guessing the majority of viewers don't care about policy and are tuning in for controversy. Trump can't go full Asshole but he's got enough leeway to make debates (hilarious) great again
Donald "biggest hands in the business" Trump vs Hillary "the Lizard" Clinton
This is the typical grappler vs striker match up. You have Clinton who has a lot of policy knowledge even compared to other career politician. But she is not the best debater she doesn't seem to have the "it" factor like Obama, Bush or Bill had. Seems rather dry and tries to bury her opponent with policy. Get lots of hours in prepping for the debates.
On the other hand you have Trump no policy knowledge whatsoever. But he has a basic idea about issues that seem a lot of people agree with. He can also read a room like no other, and is an expert in TV knows exactly how he will look etc. Doesn't do any specific prep just shows up and sees what happens.
Difficult to say what will happen. Could go either way.
Trump, who at first called for Lester Holt removed until he found he was a registered republican, has already told Holt he doesn't want any fact checking done by the moderator. His game plan is pretty obvious. Spew out bullshit for an hour and hope something sticks.
That sounds like it has an agenda, but it makes sense. The moderator isn't there to debate. They should not be fact checking either candidate, and making an argument for the other one. That's the job of the candidates in the debate to debunk any lies their opponent might be throwing out there.
If Hillary lies, it's up to Trump to call her on it. If Trump lies, it's up to Hillary to call him on it.
Violence/Genocide: Do not condone violence or genocide on a person or group of people. You are free to attack a person or groups ideas but you are crossing the line when calling for violence. This will be heavily enforced in threads with breaking news involving victims.
