I hear you and I don't want to get into a back and forth I voted for the guy but hope he fades away and defend him when I think it's necessary. The China thing not sure what the exact outcome was. The Mueller thing was really covered in great detail. The lie that started the spying of Trump and funded by DNC partially with no conquences I think gives some Trumpers out there the idea " they're just out to get him" He also gets in his own way.

You have the people who think he's like Jesus and the other who he is literally Hitler, our fragile democracy can't handle him!

Again, there was a legitimate basis for an investigation, and it wasn't based on any lie. Durham was hunting for something to back up Trump's ranting, and he got two bullshit indictments that led to acquittals and that one guilty plea that led to probation. What's disturbing to me is the idea that regular people not personally connected to Trump *wouldn't* want an investigation. If you find out that a foreign gov't is committing crimes against Americans to help a presidential campaign, wouldn't you naturally want to know the full extent of the campaign's relationship to that foreign gov't? Even if you agree with the policy goals of the candidate, you should want to get to the bottom of that.

Carter Page is not what started the investigation though. I’m not sure why that myth doesn’t ever die. The FBI, Mueller Report, IG Report, and Durham Report all confirm that it started with Papadopoulos running his mouth about things he should never have had knowledge of, unless he or his associates were in contact with Russia. That’s what started the investigation.

As for Clinesmith, that charge was pretty weak. His “false statement” consisted of adding 3 words to an email which were actually not false. He added the words “not a source” after Carter Page’s name, which is in fact true. But I get that when someone does that, it muddies the waters and makes it look the like original author of the email said it, which isn’t the case.

Overall, I try to have some consistency: Clinesmith was found guilty under the exact same charge as Michael Flynn. Since I am fine with Flynn being guilty, I’ve reconciled myself to being fine with Clinesmith being guilty. I think that works both ways.
