I tried to get Orion and the Horsehead Nebula last night. The colors are a bit off and I'll work more on it later:

On the bottom left, to the right of the brightest star on the bottom left, is a very faint red nebula that's the Horsehead Nebula. It's red though and by default, normal cameras have infrared filters that block out a lot of the red that the nebula produces. So, even though I took this over 2 hours and it's 650 pics, I need to do more to get it to stand out. Probably at least another 4 hours. I'll see what I can do.

Sweet pics. I'd love it if you circled or highlighted it. You say bottom left and to the right of the brightest star, but the red blob is just under and slightly left. So am I looking for something different?

Yeah, it's very hard to see here. I circled the spot in the original image, then zoomed in and made it brighter, and circled and outlined it in the zoomed pic:

I rewatched Interstellar for the 10x last night. Space is so damn interesting.

Ps- I’m not crying, you’re crying!

Thanks man. I could see the red haze but wasn’t sure if it was the red blobby thing. These are awesome pics.

Thanks... if you have a camera and tripod you can take these too with a lot of patience. ;)

I don’t have either, but it’s funny how everyone talks about and questions the existence of miracles, and here they sit, directly in front of us...thanks for the reminder...

Do you have to be in a specific, (low light non city) location to capture those?
