No, BJ Penn is half Korean half Scottish. He is from Hawaii, but he is not Polynesian. Penn might be confused as Filipino (common ethnic group in Hawaii), but he is certainly Asian and looks Asian. Most people would not guess he is white.

Benson Henderson is Korean and has Korean features. And has Korean influences, that is why he does TKD.

Benson is just as much Korean as Machida is Asian. lol Look at his hair, eyes, and how light his skin is for a black guy. He's mixed so of course he has dark skin.

All those guys have visible Asian features, including Yan. Yan is literally from Asia. But yes, he is mostly Russian ethnically.

Either way, there has been an Asian champion since Sakuraba. Whether it's geographically (Yan) or ethnically/genetically (all the guys mentioned).
