curious on your fav ways to finish and and end up on top in good position after a crackdown headoutside single when someone tries to buttdrag like conor tried vs khabib in theirfight in first round
yeah
thats good for pure wrestling but i was hoping to get more of a bjj/mma technique response seems most guys like to crotch lock after you crackdown to the mat im not afraid of them rolling me but more of them trying to escape get space curious what some good methods to end up on top would be surprised there isnt an real vids of this online as this is one of the most common takedowns in mma bjj and thats one of the most common defenses so ud think people would have answers to it and post
lolz no shit he is but the way hes showing it is again from a wrestling meta vs mma kinda like how the double is a bit different in mma due to punches thrown at you if you think that the ground wrestling is the same as in mma then you are very misinformedThere's no wrestling crackdown or jiu jitsu crackdown, it's just a crackdown. The guy in the video is arguably the best wrestler in the history of American wrestling with multiple Olympic gold medals but by all means go find a jiu jitsu crackdown video instead.

I think you guys are under the misimpression that I only wrestle. I've trained at Ralph Gracies, 10th Planet and for the past decade with Cesar Gracie guys and competed at NAGA. I'm far from something special but I've used it successfully against all levels. The same tight elbow that prevents my opponent from putting their hooks in or wrapping around the waist will prevent a crucifix.
And what was the other thing? One guy said he was afraid of the opponent getting space and escaping? You think that's easy to do once someone has both arms locked around your leg and your hip is pinned to the mat? You don't think in the decades that this technique has been used and re-used, learned trained and perfected wrestlers didn't think about an opponent creating space and escaping? C'mon man.

As I recall, khabib switched up to a double when Conor crotch locked him, which is one of the options John Smith shows there.
That seems like a winner.

i agree been a pro since 2012 and the most grueling part is taking someone down and keeping them down thats why i try to be as technical as possible and make sure my timing is superior to avoid using as much strengthBeing strong or stronger than your opponent is a huge component in mma grappling. Energy is just a huge factor and being able to be stronger and use less energy/complete techniques is just a reality many guys overlook.
TS, you are saying it doesn’t work but who honestly finishes singles and crackdowns in mma unless they have a huge strength or grappling advantage like khabib. Your average fighter is not going to finish a lot of these wrestling positions without being really tired later. There’s no ‘magic’ technique like bjj...just grit, strength, & repetition.
I was really into the crackdown after the Maia vs Woodley fight, since i saw it as a natural extension of finishing single legs at the highest levels.
I've taken a somewhat more philosophical view on the matter in the meanwhile; the best way to think of single legs, is like, imagine if your opponent had a long rope tied around his waist dangling around. It's in easy reach, it's the closest thing for you to grab. If he has any good amount of balance though, you're probably not going to make him fall over just by dragging him around unless you are monstrously powerful.
What you can do though, is pull him closer to you. And then suddenly that grip on the rope turns into a waistlock or bodylock, and now a finish comes into easy reach as well.
