I just randomly stumbled across this last night and thought I'd give it a look. It actually ended up being both pretty damn funny while also being pretty poignant and touching.

The summary:

Shannon Whisnant has a nose for a bargain. But when he bought a used grill at a North Carolina auction, the severed human foot he found among its ashes was not part of the deal. Soon the gruesome discovery becomes the toast of the infotainment world, and the new owner spies a golden opportunity to cash in on the media frenzy, until struggling addict and amputee John Wood recognizes his missing member and demands his own foot back.

It currently sits at 98% on RT after 42 reviews: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/finders_keepers_2015

Lol, YES. The documentary I have been waiting for my whole life. Thank you.

Will only watch if John Wood turns into a serial stalker and watches this man's every move, eventually killing him, cooking him, and eating him in route to getting his severed foot back

Ha. It really is entertaining. You should check it out.

I know the guys who made it had a hand in producing King of Kong.

I'm 20 minutes in and I'm still going WTF. I understand the guy has the legal right to it, but come on. It's the guys leg. Give it back.

Will ceck it out, sounds strangely intresting. Hope it's on showbox

Whisnant is a goddamn CHARACTER, I'll tell you that shit. It's fitting that the producers for this one were involved with King of Kong, because Whisnant reminds me in some ways of Billy Mitchell. (Not sure if you ever saw KoK, if not, you should put that one next on your list.)

Never seen it. I just can't believe someone like that exists.

Just keep watching, man. He's for sure one of the most interesting, ludicrous, fanciful, ridiculous, fascinating people I've seen in a documentary in recent times.

2 stars on Netflix that's not good

2 stars? Says 4 1/2 on my account.

You do realize that Netflix's rating is based on what it thinks YOU will think, it's not a universal rating. Do you always rate documentaries really low or something?

No in fact I never rate anything. Also I did not know that the rating isn't universal

I give no credence whatsoever to the stars on Netflix. I've never seen any rating system less correlated to the quality of the film.

Yeah, it's weird. From one article I just found:

When you look at a Netflix rating on a movie, the service shows you an estimate of how many stars similar users have given it. When a movie has one star next to it, that means it has been generally rated "1 star" by users like you.

So that's interesting that you are getting 2 stars and I am getting 4 1/2. Since you never rate anything, it must be basing your rating on other people who demonstrate similar viewing trends.

I'll watch it. I like being touched.

Also, Atari: Game Over is an awesome doc on Netflix. I'm not a gamer, so don't worry about needing to relate to the subject matter. It's more about the guy who designed ET the game (considered the worst game ever) and his relationship to the game's notoriety, among other things. Just trust me and watch it. Probably my 2nd favorite doc after Dear Zachary.

I watched Atari: Game Over. It was pretty interesting.

Another game-related movie that I remember thinking was all right was Indie Game: The Movie.

But nothing beats King of Kong.

Did somebody grill the foot or what?
