Just finished the demo. All I can say is: wow! Big smile on my face.

The flashback sequence is absolutely masterfully done. It’s shaping up to be a really sick game. The Anxious Heart theme music is sooo good. Piano minigame was fun too. Reactor was proper creepy.

By the way, heads up for for those of you planning to play the demo: when you finish it, there’s like a small section where Square asks you “wanna see one more peak”? Do NOT take the bait if you don’t want to be spoiled: that’s another trailer that I’d wish I had rather not seen.

I guess I'll be waiting another four years to see my ninja the Magic Pot. "Gimme an elixir!"

Part 3 is going to be absurd because as far as I'm aware there won't be a single weapon in this game which means every weapon boss fight (Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, Ultima) will have to be in the third act. There's also a lot of other cool boss fights in the late section of the game. Looking forward to fighting this boss sometime in 2028 if it releases then.

I'm glad they aren't spoiling all the boss fights though. When Rebirth came out they showed off every single boss fight except for the very last one. We still have no idea what Lost Number, Red Dragon, Demon Wall, etc will look like.

It's crazy that this game ends before the 2nd disc begins in the OG. 3rd act is basically going to be a boss rush mode if they include everything.

Probably shouldn't of watched it but eh fuck it was worth the watch

The amount of stuff in this part is pretty amazing from a content point of view withe updated and new mini games, side quests etc

not sure about the trailer part actually, sneak peak was only about one minute long and my dumb ass was so thirsty for more after the demo I was like yeah why not. Stupid stupid stupid.

I’m actually really disappointed that I’ve seen it now. Heavy story spoiler stuff and while there’s a good chance that what was shown might be out of context or a red herring, still, Square, I DON’T WANT TO KNOW.

oh well. Just three more weeks.

Woke up early and completed the demo. I'm kind of mixed on it to be honest. It feels like a downgrade over Intergrade visually. It was super blurry and detail was really hard to make out on the enemy and character models, especially when they are further away. Why is this a PS5 only game? After the demo I feel like this could easily have been on PS4.

Last scene was too silly for me.

WTF was up with that limping? It took forever..... and then I laughed out loud when those dudes just stood their watching their comrades die REFUSING to fire a single bullet. Come on now.....it was too overdramatic. This was a classic scene in the OG, I didn't like it here very much. Fire looks dated too.

Combat system is still really fun , the piano game in Tifa's home is surprisingly awesome and if that's an indication of future mini-games then the full game will have so much to do. I liked them expanding on the original, the town itself is gorgeous, playing as Sephiroth felt good. Not sure how I feel about the Materia Keeper replacing the dragon. Does that mean we don't fight that boss later as a party?

Any visual stuff will probably be fixed by playing either performance mode or graphic mode I think but I'm not sure which one of the two is best. I've watched some demo gameplay streams with a different mode than I was on and it looked way better.

I feel you on the limping part. When that log crashed down inside the town and you had to go through the house to get to mom's house I said "really?" out loud.

And the not shooting part is just some typical anime/Japanese bullshit. Other than that the buildup to the scene was masterfully done. That one scene where you look for Sephiroth inside the Shinra mansion and you see him standing there with his back turned against you and the music shifts into that of a straight horror game... bone chilling.

A lot less blurry and the character models look better too. I noticed even back at the house in present time the characters just didn’t look as good as they did in the first part. Seeing a lot of people talking about this problem too. I’m hoping we find out this is an older version but I’m thinking this is what the main game will be like

Well rebirth is more open world right? Most likely the problem. FF7R was very linear with very small areas. I didn't think about that aspect but honestly it makes sense.

True. I'm a die hard FF player. I've beat all of them and 100% completed most of them accept the one with the 3 guys and car and the girl ones.

noice. I’ve only played 7 and 16 actually. Never been a real hardcore solo game player but back when I was a kid my mate randomly brought FF7 over once, I think I was like 9 at the time. Was hooked ever since so this remake series is driving my nostalgia meters through the roof.

Trying to figure the game out as a Dutch 9 year old before getting consistent English lessons in school also gave me a massive head start too.

You should play FF X , 8,9 are pretty cool too. I just beat 16 a few months ago. Amazing graphics for boss fights.
