Never gets old.

pound for pound greatest wind up/execution all time.

I bitched slapped a fly once on first attempt into my mates face who had just peered around the corner.. Was magical.

I never thought I would have any interest in a 125 pounder. But Figgy is a 1st for me...

I saw 2 of his fights before any title and he had that same tenacity, ferocity and fire in his gut.

Yeah, same here, except maybe Cejudo (but that was mainly his BW fights). Figgy vs Mighty Mouse needs to happen.

I'm actually stoked for future 125 title fights. Figgy vs Moreno...Cody, Manel Kape, Askarov, Tyson Nam, Royval, maybe they'll even bring back Formiga for a revenge match. Who knows, maybe they might even serve him up Benedvidez again for a third butchering.

The backhand is an underrated (if unorthodox) weapon. There's a reason why it was banned from boxing.

In the old days, pugilists used it quite a bit to confuse their opponents.

You don't generally expect a guy to throw a hook and then a backhand with the same hand.

That's how you hype a division like flyweight. In couple of months Fig did that for me, what DJ couldn't for years - make me interested in flyweight. Sure, it is the same interest that drives me to watch Amanda fight - to see how she'll scalp yet another bum. But it's better than skipping a fight altogether.

Unless I'm mistaken, Brock Lesnar tried to connect with a Backhand against Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

Also, I vaguely recall that Lesnar tried to connect with a Backhand against Alistair Overeem at UFC 141.

That's not a slap. A slap is open hand. It's a back fist, as in a spinning backfist without the spin.

I used to throw that short back fist in sparring a lot. It's a good little tag to follow up with if I missed with a lead hook. Can't say I've ever seen someone KOd with one, though. Fig has crazy power.

While I totally agree with you...a bitch slap in this regard is more about the motion and attitude of a back handed strike

After seeing how Arlovski was able to use it with success against Browne, you would think it would show up more in MMA...

Sideways hammer fist vs open hand pimp slap?

You need to visit an optometrist and upgrade your prescription my boy.
