FightsmartTrav Head Movement

Is it for fighters, self defense folks or both?

IMO it's for self defense. I doubt anyone's going to win any mma fights if these videos are their sole training method.

That being said, if you are a fighter i bet you learn a couple cool tricks that help your game though.

To me they are worth the money. If you're really that broke, you could grab a friend and split the cost. That might even be better because then you'll watch the videos together and can practice on each other.

Vids of your head movement or gtfo.

I have shitty head movement :(

When i started Thai boxing i kept trying to move my head and the coach kept getting super pissed off and kept saying if this was real i would get kicked or kneed if i did that :/

So he made me stand there and just block block block

Didnt like that

On a scale of 1 to 10 if it took me from a 1 to a 2 then imo it was worth the money. You don't need to see a video of that. I openly admitted that i can't do what he did in the YouTube video. I also admitted that I'm lazy and didn't keep up wth all the practice drills he tells you to do. It's not his fault I'm not better, it's mine.

On a side note, my god that video must have made him a rich man

You can't really learn that from buying his video. It takes dedicated training and sparring. What he's doing in the video should be very easy for a decent, amateur Boxer.

Sounds like one of those purist Muay Thai people. Even the Thais, in Thailand are bringing in more Western Boxing into their MT game b/c Boxing works.

If you showed him a saenchai highlight would his head explode?

Alternately:

(something tells me we probably won't see a Lawrence Kenshin breakdown of this guy any time soon).

A lot of you are talking mad shit about Trav. Dude is a pro fighter.

The emphasis here feels wrong headed; what would be unusual if is he wasn't a professional fighter or trainer of professionals. If someone is putting out a video and expects you to drop real cheddar on it, its to be expected as a matter of course for them to be proven themselves; it is to be taken as a given.

My gf could teach all of you nubs something about giving head movement.

Interesting take

I agree it is very expensive at $100, that is what keeps me from buying it, i would like to hear a review from someone on here and not a review he has on his website

To me it does look good, if it was $50 id risk it but at $100 im hesitant

Hopefully someone else comes along who has actually bought it and can give me a review

On a side note, my god that video must have made him a rich man

He has 27.9 million views, lets say he converted 0.01% of those views into buys which is realistic then he is looking at a profit of around $270,000

That is insane, hats off to the guy

I don't feel like $100 is that much of an investment, when you consider most schools charge at least $50/month and you learn at the pace of the rest of the class. In other words, you spent $2400 in a couple years to hopefully have a few classes on knife defense. I have watch his youtube video and first video on his site, and he does have some good points. I feel if one invested $100 and got at least one or two good techniques out of it, then it is money well spent.

I have trained both Japanese and Chinese martial arts for 32 years. I have seen many horrible knife defenses out there, and honestly I don't blame the instructors. Most have work very hard to achieve that level, but rather I blame the poor techniques on what was taught to them, and to the ones before them.

I know of and only teach three defenses, that work. Two are for a committed attack, and one is for when you are in the worst possible position and everything went wrong that brought you there. Anything else, you need to focus on the only thing that matters in your life at that moment. Drive your fingers through their eyeballs and reach for the back of their skulls as hard as possible. Yes, you are going to get cut, but chances are, you are being surprised and have no time to set up for a defense as Trav has pointed out. And you are probably going to break or dislocated your fingers, but you need to seen them as a weapon. I ask a master once how can I make my finger strikes much harder and more devastating. He told me to practice on a heavy bag and lots of finger tip push ups.

The human body has many beautiful natural weapons, however most schools don't teach you to see it that way.

Im sure you all know the guy im on about, the famous youtube video of him asking people to try to hit him and them all failing

Its quite impressive tbh

Anyway, of course he done it to sell his products on his website

He has a head movement program with loads of videos and information, an audio package and what not

Just wondered if anyone here had used it and what they thought of it ?

I always thought this video looked cool and useful. I will say this: I trained muay thai about twice a week for a year and a half and I did of ton of training at home in that time (shadowboxing, heavy bag, etc) and that training alone helped me tremendously. Taking a video like this and practicing it in your basement or garage consistently will pay dividends. $95 is a LOT more affordable than $1,400 training muay thai.

What I love about the negative comments are the baseless opinions about you could do this and you could do that (which others have come on here to tell you they tried and it didn't work, or was way more expensive). Bottom line, do it yourself and then comment about how much better it is. Otherwise it just a bunch of words on a website with less basis than the program that you are complaining about. If you think a gym is better and less expensive, do it and let us know how it worked out. Or go online and find the videos that will help you train for free.

We await your experiences.
