Yeah he was doing just fine until he wasn'tFedor vs. Timmy. He had his moments.

It's really too bad that it is remembered for the decision rather than the actual fight.Excellent fight and I completely agree. Several times they were even landing simultaneously- Shogun low and Machida high. It was an insane fight. One of the best light heavyweight title fights ever in my opinion. And probably my personal favorite.
IIRC Shogun was landing everywhere on machida. Legs, body, and he's. But Machida landed almost exclusively only head shots so Machida had a huge head strike advantage. I remember people were justifying the decision by saying that head shots were weighed heavier than leg and body strikes.lol, no, Machida got outstruck at 2-1 or more every round other than the third and was the only one that took damage.

Shogun took care of business in the rematch though.
Shogun was landing leg kicks. Machida was landing punches to the face. The fight was much closer than you seem to remember.
I suggest YOU watch it again, with no bias.
Yes, you said that.I have watched it many times at best Machida won round 3 pretty much every other round he gets hit about two times as much or more and takes more damage.
Yes, you said that.
Do you honestly think that the first two rounds weren't close?
Like I said, Shogun was landing mostly leg kicks. Eventually those paid off, but in the first few rounds Machida was landing the better punches. They were close but Shogun landed more strikes and neither rocked the other, when you land about two times as much as the other guy the volume matters.
I think you should go back and rewatch that fight round 1 and 2 are pretty easy to score as Shogun landed more strikes and harder strikes including to the head in those rounds. The only round where the striking was close enough that you could argue the head shots may have won machida a round was in the 3rd.Like I said, Shogun was landing mostly leg kicks. I'm not saying Machida deserved the decision, but it was definitely a much closer fight than you remember.

Machida vs. Shogun 1. We'd barely ever seen Machida get touched, let alone drop rounds, so people assume it was a robbery when it was super close.
I thought Aldo won that fight. I have nothing against Moraes either.Aldo vs Moraes
I dont see it as an obvious robbery, but i have no problem with anyone thinking Aldo edged it.
People act likeJan dominated Izzy. I had Izzy ahead going into the last round....but what the fuck do I know.
