"Fighting out of..." What does it mean?

Does it refer to the location of their gym? Or their hometown?
 
Fighting out of [place where they train] by way of [place where they're from]
 
Usually the gym, but it's whatever the fighter tells Bruce Buffer to say.
 
It's basically wherever the fighter feels "home" is, although there are some exceptions
 
Yeah like the others said, it's usually what gym they train at. Like if they're fighting out of San Jose, California, they're most likely from AKA

or if they're fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, they're most likely from Jackson's. etc
 
Fighting out of=whrere gym is....by way of=where they are from
