I've always assumed the same. It makes sense to do it.I always assumed fighters who have a tattoo like that usually got it pretty early in their careers, when they're trying to make a name for themselves (so to speak). They want to make sure the crowd remembers who that guy was amidst the sea of wannabes. What better way to link the name to the face, than ink the name to the body?
