Fighters With The Sharpest Decline

The Cain fights were years ago; JDS' decline wasn't that bad considering he still won decisively.

Barao, Hendricks, and Rashad are the correct answers

Chuck went from champ to dancing with the stars because his chin had enough

Maynard you goofs

Guys like Cerrone and JDS are still headlining cards

JDS decline, like many of the fighters mentioned in the thread declined sharply after USADA testing kicked in. I understand age, milage, damage taken all come into play but USADA is the primary reason for many fighter decline. JDS loooks like a different fighter, slower, softer, weaker than he did before testing:
This guy is gone:

easily johnny hendricks never seen fighter hit such a decline in his prime

Seeing JDS simply outpoint a no name brawler from the 3rd or 4th best MMA promotion got me thinking "Man, he's really never been close to his former self since Cain." Cigano fell off hard for sure, however he is still a top 10, possibly top 5 fighter in the UFC. So who has had it worse? Tito? Chuck? BJ? Fedor? Miguel Torres? Aldo? Lawler? Stipe (lol)?
Discuss Sherbros.

I don't know who fell fastest, but I know who fell the furthest.....BJ Penn. I've never seen anything the likes of it ever. Ever.

Miguel Torres is a good call TS, what the fuck happened to that guy? Looked SO good in WEC...aggressive muay thai, good grappling...then started losing to absolute nobodies in small promotions. So weird.

Rousey in 1 fight went from un beatable once ever to looking like she couldn't beat a soccer mom.

Has to be this.

I can't think of a more clear cut case of a post usada career nosedive.
yup to knocking kampmann/fitch dead getting robbed to one of the GOATS and beating robbie lawler and arguably beating him in the rematch to then losing to guys like magny and boetsch

Even though BJ racked up loss after loss after loss... He was fighting killers, new breed welterweight killers too, like Rory. Nowadays, losing to guys like Siver is probably just old age more than anything. Dudes been fighting since Bush's first term.

Belfort and Rashad for me I think. Pettis isn't totally done yet I don't think.

Jake Ellenberger deserves a mention. Went from almost finishing Condit, KTFO Shields and Marquardt to getting jabbed by Rory MacDonald and going 8-2 in his last 10.

Bigfoot Silva
Vitor Belfort

Bigfoot went from being a huge terrifying monster to a fragile man you feel bad and concerned about. I still can't believe some assholes lured him to have his first kickboxing fight ever against Verhoeven, that's just cruel and dangerous.

Maybe Cerrone...
Ehh, Cerrone just fights anyone they put in front of him regardless if he should or not. He's more of a company man if anything. Never truly been elite but still has some decent wins.
I'm a big fan of Cowboy Cerrone, too.

I think Chris Weidman fits the bill pretty well actually. Anderson is another.

Mayhem Miller has not only a rapid decline in fighting but also in life.

vera for sure

2 division hopeful to a gatekeeper

Bob Sapp. Went from scariest HW in the world to to ultra-can who loses on purpose.
he made a ton of money outside of fighting and just stopped trying. I would assume they mean among the guys who actually kept trying to win fights.
